Maroubra Beach - Malaba Headland walk. I think it's known as the Western Escarpment Walk (don't quote me on that). I started from the Life Saving Club and head out towards Magic Point and the Boora view point. It was an impromptu walk so wanted to keep it short and sweet. This was definitely that! Beautiful views and an easy walk. It's more like a stroll. Few steps here and there but they're wide and small height-wise. Few inclines (mostly steps) but short and definitely not steep. Worth the walk. If you're following your GPS whilst doing the round route, from Boora view point it will take you through the rifle range from where the path is actually gated off and gate was locked for me. Read moreThis is the gateway to the awesome South Maroubra rock pools. They are kiddie friendly in any sea state. You can walk along the track to Malabar via the cliff top trail. The access is barred when the rifle range is in operation. Flags are raised to indicate range operations are visible from the best. The avid Walker can head North to the Mahon Pool and Lurline Bay, and return to the Malabar... That's a fare old walk, and one that takes in many stellar views for whale watching, birding and so on.
