As a local cafe, this place is a good addition. Close to the park for a better option than the pool kiosk. The food is tasty, good portions and a great variety of dishes. The house hash-browns were crunchy and golden, a good size, not too salty and well cooked. I found the texture a little unusual, a bit like lumpy mash potato on the inside. (Not badly so- just not quite what I expected). The mushrooms were fantastic and the eggs beautifully poached. Ms 15 had the corn fritters and devoured them, “crispy outside and perfect inside. Coffee was great. We ended with a Cherry Ripe slice -decadence on a plate even if a bit chilled. Shared between three it was just enough (healthwise- taste wise, never enough). With the park the pool and general Innerwest hubbub it can be hard to find parking just to visit the cafe. Try riding or walking or popping in from Petersham Station.

We visited The Pig & Pastry for a family breakfast and it was fantastic. This cafe ticks all the boxes, yummy food, kids friendly and warm staff. We ordered the Halloumi stack, homemade quiche and their latest addition chicken pasta along with matcha strawberry, chocolate milkshake and green apple juice. Chicken strips and fries for the kids. Each dish was packed with flavour and worth the price. The staff was so accommodating, providing food suggestions and quick service. Our kids were entertained with colouring paper and pencils while we enjoyed our food. Last but certainly not the least, the owners were incredibly welcoming, patient and took time to chat with each customer. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience great food, warm ambience and amazing time for their kids.

Good service and decent coffee. Spinach Ricotta Chickpea & Cheese Roll was OK. The chickpeas did not work for me. The homemade tomato ketchup was great. Now the Eggs Benedict Smoked Salmon was a major let down. Menu says 'Smoked Salmon'. I was expecting 'cold' smoked salmon, I guess. I would say 90% of the time Eggs Benedict Smoked Salmon is served with cold smoked salmon. Here it is served with 'hot' smoked salmon. I would not have ordered this dish if I had know it was hot smoked salmon. I reckon the menu should say Hot Smoked Salmon. Also the hollandaise sauce, for my taste, was a miss.

$15 for a soggy slice of quiche which my girlfriend got to finish in 3 bites. Overpriced and bad customer service: as we entered the café a staff member shouted from behind the counter it was take away only - but so loud that the whole saloon got quiet to listen. That was 30 minutes before closing. $40.50 for two coffees, a soggy quiche, and a sandwich that was more like a half. Take your own conclusions. In the end we ate all at a bench park with our hands because no one bothered offering serviettes or cutlery despite the premium price.

I gave it a try to this cafe few times. Today was most disappointing. I consider this banana bread to be burnt not toasted, although the taste was okey my food did not look satisfying at all (im sure staff is able to see the food before its packed :))). My take away coffee tasted horrible too as some of my coffee shot leaked out and was replaced with old one (i could see it as i have knowledge about it). Ahh... money wasted. ** however, two stars only for definitely best banana bread that I’ve ever tried (when its toasted well).

Worst breakfast ever. Pancake was more cakey than pancake like. As another reviewer said - “eggy”. The corn fritters were soggy and the poached egg came soft boiled! The maple syrup was watered down. The food looks far better than it tastes. Very disappointed. Only thing going for the place is the coffee and tea. Good barista - otherwise avoid the food!! I never write reviews but this was so bad I just had to!!! Maybe people like the big portion sizes - either way you get large portions and zero flavour!
