As a local cafe, this place is a good addition. Close to the park for a better option than the pool kiosk. The food is tasty, good portions and a great variety of dishes. The house hash-browns were crunchy and golden, a good size, not too salty and well cooked. I found the texture a little unusual, a bit like lumpy mash potato on the inside. (Not badly so- just not quite what I expected). The mushrooms were fantastic and the eggs beautifully poached. Ms 15 had the corn fritters and devoured them, “crispy outside and perfect inside. Coffee was great. We ended with a Cherry Ripe slice -decadence on a plate even if a bit chilled. Shared between three it was just enough (healthwise- taste wise, never enough). With the park the pool and general Innerwest hubbub it can be hard to find parking just to visit the cafe. Try riding or walking or popping in from Petersham Station.

We visited The Pig & Pastry for a family breakfast and it was fantastic. This cafe ticks all the boxes, yummy food, kids friendly and warm staff. We ordered the Halloumi stack, homemade quiche and their latest addition chicken pasta along with matcha strawberry, chocolate milkshake and green apple juice. Chicken strips and fries for the kids. Each dish was packed with flavour and worth the price. The staff was so accommodating, providing food suggestions and quick service. Our kids were entertained with colouring paper and pencils while we enjoyed our food. Last but certainly not the least, the owners were incredibly welcoming, patient and took time to chat with each customer. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience great food, warm ambience and amazing time for their kids.

I love the Pig and Pastry and have been going for years. When Sonam and the team took over last year they kept the vibe and amazing food and coffee and just made it even better! My workplace needed a lot of catering last year and when I made some pretty big requests including some weird dietary requirements Sonam went above and beyond for us. She even helped me set up because our office is close by! Everyone raved about the food and asked if we can do the same for our conferences next year. I can't recommend the P&P enough. It's my favourite place to stop in on the way to work and my favourite place to meet up with friends. It feels like a quaint little French cafe with an inner west twist. I love this place.

FIRSTLY IF YOU ARE NEW CUSTOMER OR THINKING TO TRY THIS CAFE DO NOT GO THERE AVOID IT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.I wish google could allow customers to give 0 star then I could give 0 to this terribly managed cafe. It is our second time that we had really bad experience with this cafe shop, first time we have ordered our lunch meals, took our seats and were waiting for our foods. Then locals came to shop they sat next to our table and order their meal so how we know they are local because they knew the waiters name and they spoke around 5 minutes. Around 20 mins later we saw that local couple received their meal before us and the lady on the other table had ordered the same meal as mine. We waited another 20 mins after that so total 40 mins still no food people who ordered after us they already started to eat their lunch then I called this Thai waiter and asked where is our meal then her response was shocking she said they forgot, I don't know if she think she is smart but clearly not because we knew it was lie as I mentioned before the lady on the next table ordered the same food as my one. Secondly It happened today I order my breakfast and the cashier told me you can sit on the far corner of the long table I said okay ordered my food I was heading there and I saw group of locals came after me I guess they were 4 people then another Thai waiter approached to me and said can you sit front of the window with long stall seats because of social distancing so here is the funny part I checked the whole shop everyone sitting next to each other the tables are even barely placed 1 m far from each other and on the waiting line actually nobody cares the distancing. So I said I will sit another empty table then she said she will give to local groups they may come. I Ordered my food first, paid it first and I came to shop first but It doesn't matter for them because all they want is money. So This shops food is really average, coffee is standard nothing special about it but the people who worked and managing the place are worst. Seriously this shop has zero Business ethics and driven buy amount of money not customer satisfaction. So If you are Thinking to visit this cafe Please read the review and get yourself ready for the worst experience you could ever have. I hope this helps to you...

Rated this a five star earlier and have visited once a week since it opened. However, have changed rating after last three visits.

Guys, what is going on? When you opened, you couldn't do enough for customers. Now you seem like a main stream cafe and my last visit with family was not a good one. If the guy serving us was trying to reach a new record for 'no' and 'can't do that' in one conversation, he succeeded.

Now, realise the menu changes at lunchtime, but how hard is it to get a piece of toast and avocado for our - at the time - very grumpy three year old?

We could have toast, but no avocado as other customers would see it and could ask for it as well. Ok, what are we?

What about Vegemite? No, sorry, breakfast is over.

"Ok, can we have plain toast?" Yes was the reply.

"Ok, since we ordered a BLT roll that has avocado on it, could you put that on the side with the plain toast?" Yes was the reply.

Don't figure. Wasn't as bad before the two visits before, but still not the same experience. Still, great coffee and may just stay with takeaway...

I usually enjoy the coffee and wraps from this place and have been a regular customer. However, I had a very disappointing experience last Saturday. I ordered a coffee and waited for quite a while, so I politely asked a staff member (not the barista) if my coffee was on the way. The barista at the counter (an Asian girl) suddenly got angry and loudly told me to wait, even though I wasn’t complaining. She shouted in front of other customers, which was extremely embarrassing.

A few minutes later, she continued speaking negatively about my question behind me. Even a person who was waiting for his order told me that she was still speaking angrily about me. Then I was given the wrong coffee (with sugar instead of without), and when I returned it, she said I had to wait another 10–15 minutes, even though it was her mistake was deliberately not prioritised after the error.

The 2 stars I’m giving are only because the manager was very polite and professional. Otherwise, due to the barista’s unacceptable behavior, I wouldn’t be able to give a...
