We wanted to come here ages ago because of the nice idea of a rooftop bar/restaurant plus having a pool next by. It’s supposed to be a fancy place in Penrith and not many like this comparing with the city. Finally we managed to have a dinner here to celebrate my birthday. But we were quite disappointed.
Food - some taste good some not, overall too pricey, food portion is inconsistent. Gave me wooden forks that can’t pick up the oysters. Didn’t ask how you want the steak to be cooked and didn’t provide steak knife.
Service - I was asked if the booking is for any special occasion and I ticked for birthday but I didn’t see any point of asking this question as there was no difference, nothing special about our dining experience. Maybe it is just for their marketing data collection. And I can’t really say there was any ‘service’ because you order food via QR code and then they delivers the food and you paid online anyway. They delivered the Mains before the Entrees, and didn’t even know we have ordered Entrees when bring up the food. But staff are nice and accommodated with a seat changing, and trying to make use feel comfortable as the table and seat were wet after a bit of rain.
Atmosphere - downstairs at the hotel lobby it was really nice, when I was waiting to be seated, i was also very keen to dine. However things went downhill from there. We were arranged to seat next to a birthday party group which is very loud. We couldn’t hear what each other say so had to ask to be re arranged. The seating was the worst. One needs to sit on a built in bench and the other sit on a normal seat but the built in bench is higher than the seat so whoever sits there ended up looking down at the other. Very uncomfortable as well because there is no cushion and no where to lean back on. It is the most ridiculous set up. In the end we dragged a seat from the table next to us and sit next to each other instead, so we can sit at the same level.
This place maybe is a good place for a quick and casual drink, viewing the sunset. But I won’t recommend for a more special, formal occasion when you want to have quiet and comfortable...
Read moreTheo's Rooftop Bar, nestled on Level 8 of Astina Suites in Penrith, proved to be the most spectacular venue for our unique wedding, and I can't praise it enough. This Mediterranean-inspired open-air rooftop oasis transported us to another world with its breathtaking setting.
The panoramic views of the Blue Mountains set the stage for an unforgettable day, and the iconic infinity pool added an extra touch of luxury to the ambiance. However, it's not just the views that impressed us; the incredibly delicious menu, approved personally by their chef and served at Theo's Rooftop Bar made our wedding even more memorable. The combination of delectable dishes and stunning surroundings was a feast for the senses.
What truly sets Theo's apart, though, are the exceptional individuals who work there. Jamie and Seamus, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that all our requests were not only met but exceeded. Their dedication to making our day perfect was evident in every detail, and we couldn't have been more grateful for their professionalism and care.
From the initial stages of planning to the execution of the event itself, the experience was nothing short of amazing. The thorough communication and meticulous attention to every aspect of our wedding made us feel like we were in the best of hands.
I wholeheartedly recommend Theo's Rooftop Bar to anyone seeking a unique and breathtaking venue for their special event. Our wedding was a dream come true, and it wouldn't have been the same without the stunning backdrop, amazing food, and the wonderful staff. It truly is a hidden...
Read moreThis place does not deserve any stars. I tried to organise a function for my sister’s Hens night and it was painful from the very start. We were going to have approximately 40 people and they said we could only stay 3 hours, which is absurd. They said this was to monitor RSA, yet advertise they host parties and other functions. What sort of party only goes for 3 hours. They said we could stay 4 hours if we had a minimum spend of $18k or 5 hours if we went in their function room that fits 200 people for a wedding. Not sure what kind of functions these people hold but can’t be good ones. They don’t offer what’s in their marketing brochure. Nowhere in the brochure mentions that the 5 hour package is only available in the big function room, nor do they mention the 18k minimum spend for a 4 hour event. Instead they offer each location and state that you have the option of a 3 or 5 hour drinks package. Blatant false advertising and need a reality check. The person I dealt with clearly did not know what was in the events brochure. Will never go back to this place out of principal and the way they treated me over email. My sister was so looking forward to her hens and now we have to find somewhere new. The staff, and the one person that I spoke with in particular should be ashamed. No one should ever host an event here. Absolutely...
