I wasnât planning to leave a review because thatâs not something I usually do. The açaĂ was mediocre, definitely overpriced, but not bad enough for me to spend time writing about it. What pushed me to write this review was seeing the ownerâs response. He clearly has no clue what heâs doing. Dude, your shops are in shopping areasâof course you have a queue. Thatâs just the nature of the location. Donât act like youâre super successful because of an amazing product. Soft serve açaĂ isnât anything new, and this definitely isnât the best Iâve had. The only difference is youâve added a bunch of unhealthy, dairy-based toppings, turning it into more of a dessert, which I donât think is a great idea. Are people actually here for Nutella and biscoff or here for your açaĂ? I feel like eating your açaĂ almost is an excuse of eating Nutella and biscoff in a âhealthy wayâ for lots of people.
Claiming you serve a thousand customers a day is just a straight-up lie. I remember seeing one of your TikTok videos, which is what brought me here. In the video, you said you sold 10 buckets. Are you saying each bucket serves 100 açaĂ bowls? That would mean youâre giving out about 30 grams of açaĂ per person. Also, youâre open for 9 hours, which means youâd have to serve 2 bowls per minute, non-stop, without even accounting for the time it takes to place an order. Your employees arenât machines, so realistically, youâd need to push 3-4 bowls per minute to hit that number. Anyone whoâs been to your store knows youâre not operating with that level of efficiency. In fact, the amount of time you spend online arguing with customers says a lot about this brand.
TikTok popularity wonât sustain you forever. In the long run, itâs the service and quality that matter. Playa Bowls has been in this game from the start, maintaining 4.9, 4.8 ratings on Google at every location, while youâre struggling. Thatâs how you stay in the game. Youâve already lost.
Edit: Look at the ownerâs responseâthatâs exactly what I was talking about. It comes across like heâs just raging on the internet. How can you trust a brand with an owner like this, especially in the food service industry? If they canât handle customer feedback professionally, how can you trust them with what...
Read moreacai's good! all the staffs are nice and polite but there were some mix-up with my order. might be because the server's friend came to chat and got them multi-tasking and lose focus.
it was my first time here, so i would not be familiar with the collection system. what happened was, the server called my name and when i went over to the collection counter, there was already a bowl there. the server then proceeded to pour a biscoff-looking like sauce over another acai bowl (while chatting) and left it infront of me.
It's not unusual to think that bowl he left infront of me would be mine, afterall he did called my name and poured the sauce infront of me. To my surprise it was peanut butter instead and I went back to feedback it was the wrong sauce.
When I went back, their friend was still there chatting with them, I tried telling them about the wrong sauce but they insisted that I took the previous customer's order and "walked off". The thing is, if my order isn't ready, why did the server call me and put the bowl infront of me? Even if he's so busy chatting with his friend, he could've at least informed me that it wasn't mine or stopped me from taking it?
Turns out both bowls were not mine, I was supposed to wait there and watch him make my acai from scratch upon hearing my name being called.
Anyway I settled with complimentary extra biscoff on the side but just wanted to feedback that maybe the communication for collection could be better. Or have staffs do their job properly first before chatting with a friend (who was standing at the collection point...
Read moreDo not come here if you have allergies!!!
I have always wanted to try this place as I have seen it all over TikTok and last weekend I finally did. I ordered an acai bowl and asked if anything contained nuts (I am highly allergic) and she said the granola contained nuts. So I asked for no granola and asked her to make sure that my order didn't have or come into contact with any nuts as well as informed her of my allergies. She acknowledged that and reassured me that that there wouldn't be. I received my Acai bowl and again confirmed that there were no nuts and she reassured me that there wasn't. I started eating my bowl and hopped in the car (it was dark by this point) and bit down and felt a crunch, I looked down to see that there were bits of granola in the bottom of my acai bowl. Not long after, my face and eyes began to itch and started to swell and I was having an allergic reaction. I called the shop and notified them of the situation but they didn't really seem to care and I haven't heard from them since. They do not take allergies seriously! Luckily it didn't get to the point of having to use an epipen but I did have to take several days off work and cancel plans do to having a severely swollen face. I hope this comes as a lesson for them to be more careful and have a duty of care when it comes to their customers. So...
