I love Chinese food but I unconsciously avoided Chinese restaurant altogether anywhere in Australia in the past 20 odd years. Because in my experience, 9 out of 10 I will be disappointed. Eg this time I can’t help myself questioning WHAT is this China Fusion join had been FUSION with? Cucumber Salad - bland! Wonton in Spicy Sauce - tasteless & just warm (maybe microwave reheated), sauce not spicy at all, thick & chewy skin (likely was cooked a few hours ago). Xiao Long Bao - if Ding Tai Fung is the benchmark, this should be ranked disqualified. Broth inside bun is bland & just warm (maybe microwave reheated), thick & chewy skin (likely was cooked a few hours ago). Shanghai Stir Fry Noodles - worst dish of today! Tasteless, & just warm (maybe microwave reheated). Noodles have NOT been stir fried completely therefore there’re several lumps of noodles stuck together forming “noodles cakes” as photo. As a big eater I usually finish everything as long as they’re still “eatable”. Rarely, I have leftover I can’t finish as photo this time. Hot & Sour Soup - turns out this is the best dish among the 5 I’ve ordered today (which all are common basic dishes). Partly because it is the warmest dish (please note I didn’t say boiling hot), still bland, NOT hot NOT sour (but unlike the other place I’ve been to… thank God it is not sweet!) One good thing is they provide soya sauce, vinegar & chili oil on the table (as photo), so in theory customer could use them to overcome the tasteless issue. The problem is, the chili oil is tasteless as well !!! Need not to say, I wouldn’t recommend this place & highly unlikely that I would give it a 2nd trial, simply because I have better use of my...
Read moreAbsolutely horrendous. How on earth did they get so many stars. Came at 6pm to order for 4. Did not receive our final dish, a vermicelli, until 7.20pm which is really poor. Also the dish was left at the kitchen window whilst a customer was chatting to the chefs inside - this is unprofessional and extremely unhygienic. The dish was so dry, salty, and looked unappetising. The pork belly dong po rou was the only decent dish. The xiao long bao was uncooked the first time we received it too.
We can see the tables around us just as frustrated with their experiences. Overall a very poor night. Not recommended.
EDIT: got contacted by the owner the next day apologising for what happened and that the main chef had been unwell. It would’ve been better if they had not taken so many customers or pre-warned us that wait times would be long due to this. Appreciate the follow up and they were apologetic and wanted us to return to...
Read moreWe dined at this Chinese restaurant and had a disappointing experience. Before ordering, I specifically confirmed what was included in the meal package and asked if a free soft drink was part of it. The staff assured me that it was. However, when we got the bill, we were charged for both soft drinks, despite the prior confirmation. It was frustrating to not receive the promised free drink and then be charged for both.
Additionally, during our meal, the two female servers, Lisa and Rei, were unprofessional. They were whispering and discussing our family inappropriately, and their overall demeanor was rude and dismissive. We were polite and friendly, but they treated us with disdain, making the dining experience quite unpleasant and stressful.
Overall, I feel that we were misled and did not receive the quality experience we expected. NOT RECOMMEND IT to our neighbors or any friends to come and dine...
