West End Bakes Manly — Restaurant in Sydney

Purchased a breakfast wrap. When I received it it was clear that it had been made probably very early morning or the day before. The wrap bread was warm but all the contents were cold. Clearly not made while you waited, which is what I expected and reinforced by the fact it took over 19 minutes to serve. So I got a pre-made cold wrap for $16. Not good. Needs to actually make these things on order. Server, who was very understanding, put it back in the hot plate and it came back warmer but the wrap was now quite hard - cooked probably three times by now. Lost...

No idea about these bad reviews. This is one of the very best cafes in Manly both in terms of food and service. The coffee is superb, the bacon and egg roll (with hash brown) is the best I've ever had (our whole office now eats them), the BBQ Lamb Burger is phenomenal, and so is the Acai Smoothie Bowl. Decent location and outdoor seating in the shade. Not the best coffee in the area but still pretty good. 2 stars though for slow service- namely, there were 4 tables with food unserved and the bar staff were standing around chatting, having their own drinks. I’m sure they don’t get many breaks but in peak hour (11-1pm on a Sunday) you’d expect this to be better planned. It just creates a tense atmosphere among customers which is the opposite of what you’re going for...
