Our experience at Woo Wol was very disappointing from the start. We were greeted and seated by who we believe is the manager. When we barely just sat down, my mom was talking to me and the manager clapped in our faces and asked us to listen to her just for her to ask if we are having bbq when we haven’t even received the menu. We just flew in earlier in the day and did not really have much of an appetite so we ordered only a few dishes, with the intention of ordering more after we check their portion sizes of those dishes. The manager laughed at us and asked if we were kidding and stared down each one of us. We explained that we weren’t really hungry and wanted to wait and see how the portions are. She sent the order through and told the other staff about what happened and laughed while pointing at us. The chef then called her over and complained about our order and that was when she decided to tell us that it was apparently restaurant policy to order one dish per person but she decided to let us be for tonight. Obviously we felt really bad, my partner asked if we could just cancel dining there but she said its impossible since she put the order through. We decided to order one more dish and one of the waitresses came to take our order but she too treated us with ridicule. We asked for the beef tataki which she said was sold out so we ordered the glass noodles, she then asked “so you want the tataki and noodles?” and I said only the noodles since you said the tataki was out of stock. She stared us down, and said “yeah i was just checking” and left. The whole time we dined it felt extremely uncomfortable as the staff were staring and laughing at us. I do feel that we may have ordered less than expected but we did not want to waste food, and seeing that the restaurant was barely occupied (only 4 tables were occupied and it was past the dinner rush hour) there was no reason for the staff to humiliate us as such. Even if they have such a policy, couldn’t the manager have mentioned it when taking our order instead of ridiculing us and then putting the order through first? It was also extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to point, talk and laugh at us. My relatives only responded to her and others with laughter and smiles because they did not understand english. Even before this whole one dish per person issue started, the way she treated us was simply lacking in manners. The dishes were alright overall but the ginseng chicken was awfully dry. I only hope nobody has to go through this kind of...
Read moreI visited Woo Wol KBBQ yesterday and it started off on a positive note, as the restaurant was quiet and we were quickly attended to by a male server. We ordered scotch fillet, oyster blade, and pork belly, and were delighted to receive a complimentary steamed egg along with the standard kbbq side dishes. However, as the evening progressed, our experience took a turn for the worse.
The male server informed us about the two types of grills, one for beef and the other for pork belly, and assured us that he would switch them when needed. We appreciated the information and began enjoying our meal at a relaxed pace.
Unfortunately, our enjoyment was abruptly interrupted when a female server came to our table uninvited and took matters into her own hands. She threw the whole fillet and pork belly onto the grill without saying anything, while we were still cooking other meats. It felt like she was trying to rush us through the meal, despite our desire to cook and eat at our own pace.
When we informed her about the separate grill for pork belly, she claimed they had run out of the other grill which we found out later was a lie. Moreover, her attitude was quite condescending, asking us “have you ever been to a KBBQ before?”. We kindly asked her to leave so we could continue cooking ourselves.
To our relief, the male server was more accommodating and swiftly changed the grill once we finished the beef. However, the damage was done, and our dining experience had been negatively impacted by the female server's rude and rushed behavior.
Apart from the service issues, we were disappointed with the portion size of the meat given the price we paid. It felt overpriced compared to similar establishments that offer more generous servings. Additionally, the ratio of lettuce to meat ordered was appalling, we were only given a handful of pieces when we ordered ~$100 of meat.
In conclusion, our visit to Woo Wol KBBQ was marred by the unpleasant and rushed service provided by the female server. We did enjoy the food and appreciated the efforts of the male server, but the overall experience left us with no desire to return. Hopefully, the management will address these issues and ensure a more...

Sides are small and limited As you can see from the photo there are not that many side dishes, though it's refillable but still laughable considering they are charging premium.
Sauce not saucy The ssamjang is too condensed, in my personal opinion it needs to be more saucy and honestly I cannot taste the Ssamjang whatsoever when dipped with meat. I think the meat has more flavour than the sauce?
Rice was overcooked The rice was probably the worst of all. It was served overcooked and stuck together like int he photo. I couldn't finish it and sent it back to the kitchen. For a premium venue, this is very amateur and disappointing.
Lettuce wraps are not free I know lettuce ain't cheap these days but for a KBBQ restaurant it's ridiculous that you are not even getting Lettuce wraps for free.
Meat The oyster blade was probably the best among all the meat we ordered.
The beef tartare was literally iced cold when it was served. When we bit down the meat, it was almost like eating an ice block. This dish is meant to be served chilled but not iced cold.
Service The guys serving us were nice but service could be improved as they seem quite inexperienced. I think I heard one of the guys came asking us: WHAT? After we pressed the...
