Xin Chào Vietnamese Cuisine — Restaurant in Sydney

Decided to try the pho here based on all the great reviews however was quite disappointed with what we received. We are lovers of the beautiful, slow cooked broth that is pho and have travelled far and wide in the past to find a good bowl. We ordered one chicken and one beef pho for takeaway and came home to see a measly 5 small pieces of chicken and “less than a normal” amount of beef in each bowl. The beef broth was a little lighter in flavour than we are used to, however the chicken broth was delicious. The saving grace, however, was that beautiful spicy sate chilli and the punchy chopped chilli.

Overall it was ehh - I wouldn’t recommend to anyone that was hungry.

Edit: In response to the owner, the “cheap” pho wasn’t the reason I tried your pho, it was for the well rated reviews. When you order a chicken pho there’s an expectation that there will be more than 5 small pieces of meat. With regards to the beef broth, it was just something I noticed and reviewed but each broth is different and that is completely fine - to each their own. As said earlier the chicken broth was beautiful and the pho overall was pleasant but the quantity of meat is quite sad not even worth the $12. Even though we live just around the corner from Xin Chao, it had been 2 or 3 years since we’d dropped in for a meal. Guess we really are spoilt for choice along the Enmore Rd Entertainment Precinct!

We only had less than an hour before heading into the city and knew that Xin Chao were quick bringing out their food….and they didn’t disappoint 😊

I settled for the Wok-Fried Rice Noodles with Chicken while my partner had the Chicken Laksa…and I straight away got food envy! It looked delicious! Don’t get me wrong, my noodle dish was yum but note to self for next time, get the laksa 😉 He could probably see me drooling so I managed to have a taste, and it really was amazing!

The restaurant itself could probably hold 20-30 covers plus the couple of tables outside. It was pretty busy for 6pm on a Saturday and tables were turning over. Staff were on it and very friendly too, always welcoming diners with a smile.

Won’t wait so long to go back to Xin Chao….this time...

The food was great. But the young fella who was waiting tables spilt my piping hot pho into my lap. I think he was hung over or coming down off something. Because he's also ran into a table and struggled to add up the order at the end on his calculator. Anyhoos... The burn blister has recently popped on my inner thigh and I can now walk without crying much. I'd definitely go back still. But I would tell the young fella to keep the f away from our table.

Edit post-response: You're welcome for the review. My burn is ok. Don't stress out about it. I can buy new pants as well because I've had these shorts a few years. Probably my second favourite shorts. But there's more important things in life than clothes. Like inner-thigh health. My inner thigh is gonna be good to go in no time.
