We had a nice brunch at this Thai restaurant on recent Sunday and ordered too many dishes since their menu are quite extensive and everything looks yummy ;-).
All the dishes are yummy authentic dishes and you can order with your preferred level of spiciness. We like our papaya salad and tom yum soup with good level of spiciness like what they should be if you have them in Bangkok and the chef in this place did not disappoint us and delivered the spice heats we like. The green curry was nice, creamy and fragrant with aroma of coconut cream (very nice gaeng keow). However, the best dish of our day was their BBQ pork neck aka moo yang. All in all, we ordered too many but had no regrets at all since we could take it home for next meal.
On next visit, we ordered yum talae seafood salad and pad cha moo krob stir-fried crispy pork belly. Both are good and authentic Thai dishes as well.
The customer service from floor staff members were very good and they tried their best to please their customers. The place is not too big but still has quite pleasant ambience. Sometimes the Thai background music is too loud though. We will surely come back if we are in the area and miss some authentic Thai dishes. Prices on the menu are competitive with other Thai places in the area and you can pay by credit cards with a rather high...
Read moreWow vegan menu. I was with a vegan friend and I thought vegan was bland. I was wrong. I had no idea that vegan Thai dishes were so delicious. Great variety in the menu, classic favourite Thai dishes, and regional Isaan dishes, but I don't know where Isaan is or what their food style is lol. Lovely gentle Thai grandmotherly lady came to the table and invited us to order at the cashier. She had such a calming and gentle energy about her. The staff were very friendly and politely asked how we enjoyed the dishes. I was surprised how busy the restaurant was, the vegan angle works for them. Don't expect bland food at Yod. Can't expect it to be like a pork larb, or som tum salad with proteins, or Thai beef salad, but they are innovative and the food is surprisingly good and fresh. There is deceptive advertising in the menu photos. The photos make the servings look small but the actual servings are huge! I ordered the big salad because the photo looked like a small serving, and my jaw dropped when this massive salad was delivered. I still ate it all as it was yum. Don't expect fine dining at Yod, that's not what this place is about. It is a homey Thai restaurant that serves honest cruelty free food, with an old lady that just radiates gentleness. Go here to have a hearty, guilt free, delicious meal, salve your soul,...
Read moreMe and a friend recently dined at Yod and it was an incredibly disappointing experience, specifically regarding their handling of gluten-free requests.
Despite informing three separate servers about our gluten-free requirements and stressing the importance of avoiding any gluten-containing ingredients, the restaurant failed to deliver on this basic request. To make matters worse, one of the dishes was even served with soy sauce which is not suitable for celiacs.
The lack of attention to dietary restrictions is not only frustrating but also potentially harmful for individuals with gluten sensitivities or allergies. It's disheartening to see a restaurant neglect such a crucial aspect of customer service, especially when dealing with something as serious as food allergies.
Equally disappointing was the response from both the restaurant and its servers when we brought the issue to their attention. There was a notable lack of concern or apology for the oversight, leaving us feeling unimportant and undervalued...
