Only stayed one night. I liked that they one-upped other hostels that just have a refrigerator with a whole kitchenette with plates, cutlery, microwave, rice cooker, toaster, and hot water kettle! Additionally in my room there was a small chair and working table. This is always nice for folks in the upper bunk to have a place to sit that's not someone else's bunk!
However, I disliked that the rooms didn't have A/C (the fan made it bearable but created a lot noise), the beds didn't have curtains, and that unfortunately for both me and a roommate, the WiFi connection didn't work and since this place seems to be administered by The Pod nearby and doesn't have anyone on-site, they couldn't resolve this issue.
Additionally, it's worth noting that since this place is administered by The Pod nearby, there's no reception desk and therefore no lobby for folks to gather, and doesn't lend itself to much of a social atmosphere--probably the only hostel I stayed at on on a long trip where I didn't really...
Read moreVery Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend! I had a pretty bad experience staying at Sydney Central Inn. The place is old and not well-maintained. The room wasn’t very clean, and there weren’t even basic essentials like bed sheets—just really bad mattresses, super uncomfortable. Even the fan was tiny and barely helped with the heat. The building itself is outdated, and honestly, the only good thing about it was the location. The process of getting the keys and instructions was terribly organized. It was confusing and made the check-in unnecessarily stressful. We paid for three people, but there were only two chairs in the room—something so basic that should have been taken care of. The old windows were nearly impossible to open or close properly, which was frustrating. Overall, it felt way overpriced for the state it was in. I wouldn’t recommend this place, and I definitely won’t be...
Read moreIt’s a good place for young people. Reception is in a separate building (The Pod Hostel) but the receptionists are really nice! Loud music in a bar downstairs most nights and the music is unique and kind of muffled so I didn’t mind it (but unfortunately could not Shazam). Dark curtains for good sleep. Windows can be opened for airflow otherwise the room might get a little stuffy in the morning. If you have a top bunk bed (like i did) the light inside the room is really bright and kind of annoying but the beds and pillows are comfortable plus they give you a towel for your stay. The kitchen is small but they have what you need (Microwave, crock pot etc) Everything is super clean especially the bathrooms!!! there is always staff onsite. Cool view of...
