Attended this cafe at 11.40am on a Tuesday for breakfast with my boyfriend on the 1st of may
service The dis heartened 40 ish year old man behind the counter was unsure of elements of the menu and didn’t seem happy or overly excited to serve us at all. He asked us if we would like our food to come together and we said yes. It came roughly 5 mins apart and a waitress took one of our dishes to the wrong table first. 2/5
food I ordered the eggs my way (scrambled) $12 With added mushrooms $5 avocado $7 and crispy potatoes $10. “Crispy potatoes” were 3 very small potatoes which had been cut in half and over cooked. Dry on the inside and with a lack of proper garnish. The added $7 avocado was less than half of an avocado and the mushrooms were undercooked. All up this dish cost me $29 and was extremely light on serving size. 2/10
We also ordered a single bacon and egg. It was light on the “Smokey tomato relish” and flavours were cancelled out by the sweet brioche bun anyway. For $10 it was nothing special.
The tea was hot at least. And they provided blankets.
Great location but wouldn’t visit this place again. Which is sad because I...
Read moreZubi at Billy's was a bit of a flop this weekend. Really underwhelmed by the food here and probably would not return despite its proximity to Bilgola Beach.
Ordered the Chilli Chicken Burger, Smashed Avocado with a side of bacon, and a large flat white.
Flavour of the chicken was actually quite nice and the bun was soft however it amazes me how they managed to also serve a bucketload of water with my burger. Because of the all the moisture that dripped out, my corn chips, which were already a little stale, became wet and soggy too. Guacamole that came with the corn chips was also very underwhelming and needed a lot of seasoning to save it. With a burger and nachos, this felt like two very average dishes on the one plate.
Smashed Avocado, like the guacamole, lacked simple seasoning and my friend commented that this was the worst smashed avocado he had ever had. He struggled to finish because of how gluggy the avocado was. The bacon helped immensely with flavouring the dish but must be noted that we had added that on as a side.

Read moreJust a had a really disappointing experience with Zubi Bilgola. We were seated and asked the wait staff if they had a high chair for our son which they gave us. My husband got a menu from the counter as we put my 16 month son in the high chair. It was only a few minutes later by the time I walked up to the counter to order, and I was then told by the same wait staff who had given us the high chair only a few minutes earlier that the kitchen was now closed, it was 1:55pm on a Sunday. Clearly we were there for lunch since he had given us the high chair and it was open only 3 minutes earlier as we had witness other ordering food before us. There was staff still cooking food and people who had literally just ordered. We had to pack up all our stuff and go elsewhere, really inconvenient with a hungry toddler. So disappointing the service here was terrible to seat us down with a baby but then only a couple minutes later turn us...
