The Forest Cafe — Restaurant in Tamborine Mountain

Stopped in for lunch over the long weekend as it looked popular but not too busy to quickly feed the kiddo. Service was appalling and the place is clearly not being adequately maintained. The girl at the counter wanted to be anywhere else and her attitude showed it. Placed our order; couldn’t get drinks from the fridge because it was broken and was told the fryer was broken so no chips for our disappointed 7 year or with our burger (which we were still charged full price for). Used the facilities, which were pretty average despite having a PIN code to enter. When we questioned how long our meal was taking, husband found our daughters burnt but now cold avocado toast sitting in the counter. We were also told at this point they were out of burger patties for our burger so it would come with halloumi instead. Burger arrived with a death stare for free and at least was hot. It was almost comical how appallingly bad it was. Do NOT recommend. Spend your money elsewhere. Fortitude Brewing, Franquette, and Leaf in Tambourine Mountain were all superior in service, food...

I’m angry. I’m angry that I can’t rate more than 5 stars. I’m angry that I’m too feeble to order a second Big Breakfast. I’m angry that I cannot make my own breakfast this good.

Whoever cooks the food here has been anointed by Christ himself and the fire of the Holy Spirit is upon him/her.

This breakfast is the food of the gods that all brekky enthusiasts must make the pilgrimage for.

I am not a man of weak constitution, nor do I tolerate weakness of any kind. Yet this breakfast makes me question everything from who I am and what it means to eat. Congrats, you have successfully redefined the word “edible” for me.

Thought we’d try somewhere new on the mountain since moving here a couple of months ago. Really disappointed. Very unfriendly and rude service from young girl, who was more interested in chatting to her friend than serving. Tables were all dirty, cobwebs everywhere. Bench seats wobbly and falling to bits.
