Stone Fruit: A Sour Note in Tenterfield Our recent visit to Stone Fruit in Tenterfield left a distinctly unpleasant taste. While the name conjures images of fresh, local produce, our experience fell far short of expectations, leaving us with a hefty bill and a strong inclination not to return. We started with the "cheese platter for four," which, frankly, felt like a culinary joke. For $32, we were presented with a meager scattering of what could only be described as the tiniest wedges of cheese, forlornly accompanied by a mere five biscuits. To suggest this was sufficient for four people is simply misleading and felt like exceptionally poor value. The disappointment didn't end there. My companion's cocktail order took a frightening turn when she nearly choked on a toothpick that was inexplicably sucked up through her straw. This not only caused great concern but also delivered a nasty shock. The lack of attention to such a basic safety oversight is frankly alarming. To pay $32 for a pitiful cheese offering and then have a serious safety incident with a cocktail is simply unacceptable. Stone Fruit, based on our experience, failed to deliver on both quality and care. We left feeling utterly disappointed and would certainly not recommend this establishment. There are undoubtedly better options in Tenterfield where value for money and customer safety are given the priority...

I walked in and "really loved the room" and the vibe seemed nice. however I received a uncomfortable vibe that I was a passer buy/traveller. This was confirmed while wating for my meal and watching the interactions with what seemed to be locals. regarding the food I ordered, I had the Caprese - Heirloom tomato, stracciatella, rocket, basil oil. I love really classic Italian style food but this lacked flavour, It seemed to have no seasoning and I couldn't taste basil oil at all (as stated on the menu) the shaken espresso was very nice. Sorry but I just felt like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in Tenterfield for work and decided to treat myself, best decision I have made in a while. The food was excellent . A lot of care has been taken sourcing and preparing ingredients, you can really tell. Vibrant flavours you only get straight from local producers, all matched beautifully by the talented chef. With relaxed, friendly and knowledgeable food and wine service and a lovely atmosphere I left very satisfied and with a bottle of local Knucklehead wine for my wife! Please support the people here they are a part of this community and do an amazing job,...
