Barra Jacks Tenterfield — Restaurant in Tenterfield

This place is a joke. I spent over $100 dollars here on Fish n chips. Ordered 6 battered fish and 3 family chips. I was so keen on a lovely peice of battered fish and instead we got what looked like 6 small frozen box fish parties which were not edible they were dry rubbery and the chips were dry tasteless and blistered from the oil, salt wouldn't even stick to it. The kids were crying and it went all in the bin at the local Tenterfield pool. I rang the manager to ask for a refund and he was going to give it to me at first but then asked for a receipt which I never got and denied giving me a refund I am appaulled with the customer service I will never buy from this owner again and I will be making a complaint to the consumer watch dog because a customer is always right when it comes to the standard of food....

Arrived here 8.45pm Sunday night, just before closing time of 9pm, after being heavily rained on during a fishing trip. Cold, wet and hungry. Expected coffee machine would probably be turned off and might struggle for food for dinner for 2 of us. Well, what a pleasant surprise, Young ladies behind the counter, were cheerful and helpful ,and the lady doing the cooking jumped straight in and got to work. Yep, order whatever you like, coffee machines still on. Coffee was great, nice and hot. Baconator Burgers were excellent, and came with twice as much chips as we could eat in the park across the road. Couldn't have been happier. Great way to finish our weekend on a high. Thankyou folks. I’ve been twice now passing through town .. first got the bacon egg roll and cuppa for $10.50.. the sign said $12.00 but that’s with coffee, they gave me a discount for having tea ! Ivv vvv have never had a discount anywhere for tea.. nice surprise and yummy indeed. Was there on Monday public holiday for beef burger & chips ! Delicious and quick friendly service during a busy lunch period. Those gals were excellent super organised friendly cheerful and enjoying their work.. my new favourite cafe when travelling through...
