Heard a lot of locals raving about this place and their bánh mì so I decided to go, excited that Ulladulla has good Viet food places... The locals must not have tried a proper bánh mì because this, was unfortunately a big let down. It lacked the generosity that a typical bánh mì offers; ours had one cucumber slice each, which was sliced 1mm thin and was soggy, the sliced thit nguoi (the pink meat) was halved, so was the cha lua (pork loaf), and the pate smear was very thin. For $8, I would've expected more. Having had bánh mì all over Western Sydney, Australia, and in Veitnam itself, this was lacklustre, to say the least. Normally a bánh mì would fill me up, this definitely did not. Also ordered the vanilla slice; pastry was soggy, not crispy or flaky like one would expect. The filling was okay. Service was okay.

Read moreWe decided to stop off at Vince’s Bakery to get some Bánh Mì (Vietnamese Pork Roll) for lunch. We ordered 4 Roast Pork (2 with chilli) and 1 BBQ Pork Roll (no chilli) as well as 2 Custard Tarts and 2 Vanilla Slices. The rolls were not as full as we would expect from a Bánh Mì and some of the key ingredients were missing from the rolls (such as the pâté and the weird pink thing) and the BBQ Pork Roll came with chilli despite us ordering without. The custard tarts and vanilla slices were both enjoyable and had a good ratio of custard to pastry with a good consistency of both. Overall, our order was not unequivocally bussin’ with the value for money not being what we expected and the taste being enjoyable but nothing special. 3/5 - William, Head of Marketing,...

Some snobs from Sydney might suggest its not as "traditional or authentic" as other Viet-Sydney bakeries, that doesn't bother me. The food is clean, fresh, tasty and well priced.
I get together for lunch once a month with two other old codgers down there at Vinces. We take up a table and chairs for 2+ hours, the owners never complain or move us along (I feel guilty sometimes).
Pork roll / beef roll / schnitzel roll, fried dimmys mate... Can't go wrong. The rice paper rolls,...
