Having been there on many occasions under the previous management we found that this time that standards had dropped alot . Now being Fathers Day we expected it to be rather busy and the wait time for food to be served would probably be a little longer but we certainly didn't expect that it would take 45 minutes from ordering to the food to arrive ( total time from being seated to food arriving was just under 1 hour ) . When it did all of us were very disappointed , my wife had ordered a 1/2 serve of fish and chips with no salad well when it did arrive sometime after both myself and my father it had salad on it and talk about a small fish and chips , it was a small kids size portion with only enough chips to fill the palm of your hand and a piece of fish that measured 5 inches long by 1 and a 1/4 inches wide . My father ordered a bowl of chips and received what only could be described as a condiment bowl with maybe a dozen chips in it . I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail and Seafood Marinara and despite being smaller than what I remember last time I had that the the clams were cold and some of the prawns still had not been shelled properly so I had to shell them myself . As for the Shrimp Cocktail well it never arrived despite having asked where it was . One other concerning thing we witnessed was when one of the tables next to us readied for the next customers the unused tumbler glasses on that table were placed upside down ( rim edge down ) on one of the seats and when the table had been made those same glasses had placed back on the table for use of the next customers . A obviously very unsanitary act and certainly not what you would expect from a restaurant so we of course never used our glasses . Would you drink from one of those glasses that had been placed rim side down on a seat that who knows how many people had been sitting on ? . Obviously this is a training issue and needs to be rectified . Pedro's standards have certainly fallen a long way and we really miss the days when the previous owner...

My friends decided to take me to this restaurant for dinner on my last night here on vacation Girlfriends husband had rang about a week prior to book and also asked if they could also have a full crayfish ,which was confirmed .

Waitress came to take our order ,again ,had asked for a full crayfish to come with a seafood platter , waitress said yes. When the meal was being placed on the table ,there was only half a crayfish with chips and salad ,chips and salad was not asked for ,it was very clear that friends just wanted a full crayfish added with their platter . When friends questioned as to why it was only a half crayfish ,the waitress replied ,that’s how they come ,I politely said ,but that’s only a half a crayfish ,my friends requested a full crayfish when they had booked a week prior and the staff member on the phone had confirmed they would receive a full crayfish . Obviously the young staff really have no idea what a full crayfish is .

I ordered a seafood basket , I was really enjoying the taste and the freshness of the seafood until I bit into a piece of fish to find a piece of hair in it 🤢🤮 . On our way out ,I had mentioned to 1 of the young waitress’s that I wasn’t happy to find a piece of hair in the piece of fish ,to which she hadn’t responded to ,not even an apology .

Oh and ordered cocktails ,first 1 no issue ,but 2nd cocktail was perhaps only a half glass .

I was very disappointed, especially after my girlfriends husband had talked it up and was looking forward to taking me out for my last meal before I catch an early flight in the morning .

Honestly ,I would have preferred McDonalds ,KFC or Hungry Jacks .

My next visit here ,I will not be returning...

The place has the most beautiful views and on a lovely sunny spring Saturday it was surprising there weren't many tables filled. The service was friendly quick but a little too quick. We ordered a prawn cocktail, kids fish and chips and an adult fish and chips. They came out quickly which was nice. The fish, chips and the salads were nice bad tasty however the prawns in the prawn cocktail were watery and you could tell they had been defrosted. It’s a shame they weren’t fresh being right next to the ocean. There were also two large prawns I had to peel myself and didn’t have a water bowl to wash my fingers. I ordered a choc berry tart for dessert. The flavour was a little bland and it was rock hard. It had also been frozen and was still frozen in the middle. The “whipped cream” on the side was foamy whipped cream from a can and just disappointing. This place has so much potential but their food is letting them down. This was my second visit in 12 months and it was quiet the first time. Also off putting was the strong smell of chemicals they were using, spraying tables right next to us to clean. However the staff were wonderful and removed the prawn dish from our bill at the end. I would love to go back as the place is inviting and a great location. I hope there is an improvement...

We really wanted this to be a high-end seafood experience. I was really surprised to see not too many seafood dishes. Of course, there are the basics there, but nothing unique or specialised. We ordered the seafood platter as we usually jave 2 seafood loving kids who eat all of our food. Unfortunately, today was not their day. They didn't enjoy the fish, calamari, and mussels. I loved the natural oysters. The Kilpatrick were a bit too rich and heavy for us. The mussels were dry and chewy. I thought the fish was pretty good. We are new to Tas fish. There were a lot of chips. The prawns were ok but lacked flavour. The crumber scallops didn't have really any flavour other than crumb. I actually didn't know I had eaten the scallop in one of my bites. The calamari was so tender and delicious, but the crumb was really salty (and we love salt), so it just overpowered all of the crumbed and fried things. No lemon served, which I found surprising. My wife said the lobster thermidore was delicious, though, so that was a big positive. The staff were amazing though and treated our children very well, which I'm always grateful for. Is it a fine dining, upmarket restaurant? I'd say not. However, it is a good family restaurant with a large variety on the menu.

Pedro's "pass away" shop was probably the slowest and less aknowledgable take away shop we've come across. The staff was obviously trying to do their best despite not being made for kitchen work or social interaction. . The lady at the counter turned out customers only after they have asked to have their orders taken. Given waiting time was 30 min that actually turned to be an hour. The place was not even busy but 10 orders was obviously too much to handle for the "single potato frie at a time" frie-plunger. It was definitly something worth seeing ! Any one could open a take away across the road and close down that "sleep with the fishy" business. Dont know about the restaurant. Take away though... also who is still serving sea food sticks ? I doubt if any of the sea food there is actually fresh caught. One star for location. * in the picture, salad (the best looking thing on the plate) was woolworth. Not from pedro's.

Came here for dinner and ordered pork belly and a scallop meal. First the positives. The location is stunning right on the water. The serving staff were great and food was served quickly. The size of the meals was very generous. The pork belly in particular was a huge serve and delicious. Now the negatives. The pork belly came with a serve of crackling. However it had been deep fried and had a strong fish and chip oil flavour which lingered on the mouth. The big disappointment was the scallops. I ordered battered scallops and they were way overdone and were shrivelled up to nothing. I should have sent them back but I ate them and was very disappointed. So it could have been a really beautiful meal in a beautiful location. Certainly has the potential to be a great place to go, if they could just refine a couple of their cooking skills it would have been 5 stars.
