Breakfast 15 May. We discovered this delightful cafe early before heading to Cape Jervis for the K.I Ferry
A happy, bright, retro vibe inside continued on to the loveliest owner Deborah (soul sister)💖 & a delicious breakfast with excellent coffee. Exactly what we needed. Although I could easily have chosen so many other delicious delights, I stuck with raisin toast. Everything looked fresh, healthy, & delicious, & yes some very yummy looking treats as well. Deborah & I instantly seems to click whilst I was waiting to order at the counter & discovered we have so many elements of our lives in common. It is always nice to leave somewhere like a cafe etc & feel like you really were more than ‘just a customer’. Deborah’s warm personality gave us that feeling. Deborah was full of little tips & helpful info for our stay on K.I which that added local knowledge. We loved Stokes Bay (your tip) & got to crawl though the narrow path of rocks, to discover that amazing sight of the bay with its white sand & sculptured rocks. The day was stunning bright & sunny with a perfect blue sky. Absolute perfection. Your friends who have their food shack there had closed the Saturday before for the cooler months so we missed them 😌 Thank you for your valuable info, your delicious food & making us feel so warm & welcomed in your little slice of paradise. Totally recommend this little cafe, 10 stars if I could. Take care & we wish you all the very best Deanne...
Read moreWe stayed in the same street (Ocean St - one way street) at quiet, clean Victor Harbor City Inn. Explored our first afternoon for our subsequent 3 mornings for breakfast. Debra’s premises is gorgeous - clean, quick friendly service and importantly, healthy satisfying breakfasts. Air con seating inside, outdoor seating for those who don’t like air con or have pets with them. I had hot chocolate two mornings and a huge omelette first morning (was sooo good I had it again on third morning) and 2nd morning I had eggs and avocado. All were scrumptious, served with a smile by Debra and her sole staff member! Debra also has a “pay it forward board” near cash register which I donated to, for those less fortunate. Display cabinets had hand made sandwiches, rolls, slices etc etc. We did not try any but they look delicious! Lots of locals popped in who Debra knew by name - locals (some with their dogs sitting outside) frequenting is good enough for me ie good food and drinks! Debra works hard -for a lovely start-of-the-day experience for her patrons. do...
Read moreFor our first time in Port Victor, the experience did not disappoint. Me, my boyfriend Ronnie and our best friend Sam took a detour into Ara’s Cafe on the way to the beach, and it was exactly what we needed. Me and Ronnie having moved from rural North Yorkshire, England, felt at home in this cosy gorgeous cafe with all homemade food. Debbie took all of our names and addressed us in such a warm and welcoming way. All the food is made by Debbie herself and she offers an impressive range of bites to eat, and with me being vegetarian this was music to my ears! The service was incredible and Debbie is such a remarkable person; learning about how Ara’s cafe came to be makes the entire experience that much more special. Debbie really puts her life and soul into her incredible homemade food and making her customers feel comfortable. 10,000 miles away from home we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thanks Debbie, see...
