Decided to try Loco for dinner on a trip to Victor Harbor over the Anzac Day weekend. Did not make an appointment, which we should, but was fortunate to have a table for two at 5pm. The place restaurant filled up fairly quickly around 5.30pm - 6.00pm. We have not had much experience with Mexican food, so we went with some food which was recommended and some which we picked randomly. We ordered the Ceviche which was Australian kingfish. served with corn chips, recommended by the staff. We also tried a soft tortilla tacos of grilled barramundi with mango aioli. Finally we tried the nachos with pulled beef. Overall, the food was enjoyable, though we think we probably went with too much nachos. Our favourite has got to be the grilled barramundi with mango aoili, which was not only fresh, delicate but has the right mix of flavours to whet the appetite. The pulled beef was tender and we could break it easily to share. The Civiche was fresh and had a sushi like consistency. These dishes were more than sufficient for the two of us and we left feeling full and satisfied.
The place is spacious and suits families with kids or the romantic couple on holiday. If anything, perhaps a menu with photos could help those who are not familiar with Mexican food have an idea of what to expect. A note that the staff were very attentive but happy to leave you alone once your meal arrives.

Read moreDined here tonight . Visiting victor harbor from Adelaide for a few nights .wanting a break from the pub meals typically found here . Walked in and greeted to a table right in front of the check in or cash register when I had requested a quiet table two weeks ago when I booked . Sat down and given menus . I ordered a margarita $18. Expensive. But it was well made .partner ordered a corona beer . We ordered pulled beef burritos. $22 each . Food came out after 15 minutes . No problem with that . The food was bland and tasteless and in the small side . Burrito smallish , salad was bland and small and the cheese sauce was gross . No salt and prepped on the tables but the lime chilli sauce saved the meal .I ate because I was hungry and was left unsatisfied. Ordered Spanish churros to share . They were okay but I have had better . They came out with a caramel dipping sauce . I would have expected something with chocolate or coffee flavoured being a Mexican place . But I must admit the homemade coconut ice cream that was served with it was superb . The highlight of the whole evening ! I donât know if it was just our meals but I havenât eaten here before but I was bitterly disappointed. Will I visit again ? Maybe just to try another dish to see . Staff were polite but aloof...
Read moreWas stumbled upon on a last minute late night adventure for dinner, was originally heading to a pub but had just missed the kitchen closing by a few minutes, looking around we had found Loco Mexican.
The moment we stepped into the place the atmosphere was so bright and welcoming, the smells of the spiced food made your mouth water.
Having never been here before we thought we'd try the El Grande, Corn Ribs and the Filthy Fries. Everything was so wonderfully plated and tasted as amazing as it smelled, the Bara Popcorn was so delicious it just melted in the mouth and surprisingly didn't have a fishy taste to it, which really allowed the flavours from the sauces to pop. Overall not a single plate had food left behind, even my housemate that is very picky with food finished, everything was cooked to perfection.
Staff was fantastic and very helpful, had even been recommend some wonderful tequila to try, highly recommend the Caramel Tequila for anyone you likes their sweet drinks.
Wonderful staff, filling and delightful food with an eye catching decor and environment, it's definitely a place to try out if you're ever in the area or are out on a late night run for...
