Quaint little farmers market in the middle of VH, in some small gardens opposite the main shopping centre. Parking was ample across the road and there was plenty of shade so it didn't feel like a struggle. We arrived at 10.55am and some stalls were already closing even though the event was continuing for a few hours. I'd say there was around 12 stalls all together, some with fresh bread, seafood, jams and honey, all the usual stuff. Everyone was a delight to talk to, even listening to the acoustic music coming from the rotunda, but I wish there were more available because we were ready to spend big. Read moreVendors should be FORCED to clearly advertise their prices, there are some great stalls like the $4 plants and the fruit and veg, but some of the 'farmers' home made prices goods are nothing short of highway robbery. My 12yo daughter asked if she could buy something with her birthday $20. She came back to me in tears with six dollars change after a pack of pretty average choc chip cookies somehow cost her $13.50!
I went and visited the stall - they had a tiny A3 price list way at the back of the stall in 8 font.
I bought the bikkes from her and they sure were not worth that price....

Sitting in Grovenor Gardens nestled around the rotunda, every Saturday morning, here is a wonderful showcase of local product and enterprise from across the Fleurieu. Fruit, Veg, Dairy, Olive Oil, Baked Goods, Fish, Herbs, Potted Plants, Coffee, Eggs, etc, etc A small but potent market.
