Have dined here before and this establishment is set up for fairly busy weekends but not for festive periods or any type of national holidays. The kitchen and operational aspect of this place is poor. There were opportunities to check our tables order to see if we were waiting for any other food or beverages to come when they brought out the “fries” but wasn’t asked or even visited again from first ordering.
The kids meal came out and was average at best but was grateful that my niece was able to eat. We waited for my brother in laws focaccia to arrive and it was sat on the kitchen pass for over 15 minutes. It arrived for the bread to have now gone stale and cold and toasted. I ordered the basket of fries in which you’ll see are just frozen store bought chips that were quite clearly fried in the same oil as everything else they were frying, (which you need to change) and they were oily and tasted of other fried foods.
I also ordered the pork belly salad which sounded nice and we were aware of a 30-45 minute wait for food and so we had a drink and waited. I kept waiting and after nearly an hour I asked to cancel my dish, as in the meantime two tables that had arrived after us (and ordered after us) had been served and had eaten their food, including my brother in law and his stale Caesar salad focaccia. After cancelling the pork salad one salad appeared to be walked around the restaurant before arriving back at the pass in the kitchen with all the wait staff leaning over it and then it was brought cover by the server who apologised as it was taken to someone else’s table, and they had to make another dish, but no one thought to communicate this to me or our table and so we thought they had forgotten. Very poor service and the staff looked like they had better places to be and there was no real shout outs or areas to congratulate on. The food was average at best and so was...
Read moreWe went to Nino's for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. Ok, so it was a little later than breakfast but it wasn't yet 11am. They had pretty much stopped serving their breakfast menu but we were advised that there was a ham and cheese croissant or an egg and bacon roll. Neither any good for me as I'm vegetarian. The guy said he could do a cheese and tomato croissant, so I ordered that while my partner had the egg and bacon roll. We also had a coffee each.
The staff we saw didn't smile once - they all looked decidedly fed up. The atmosphere was not particularly inviting - it was almost like a roadside kaf once you walked through to the back area. There were a few customers in there. Most were just having coffee.
It took a little while for the coffees to come out and longer for the food. Of course, the drinks were not as hot as we like them to be, despite ordering "extra hot", so were almost cold when we finished them after our food. Why do restaurants always do this? Bring out drinks that are not hot enough to consume after the meal! It's so annoying, considering how much you pay!! I cover my drink with the saucer to try and keep the heat in as much as possible.
My food was most definitely below average. The croissant itself was fine. The two pieces of sliced tomato were fridge-cold. The so-called "cheese" was what I regard as "plastic cheese" - very obviously square and an orange colour, barely visible and completely tasteless. Pretty much it was crap for $14.50!! My partner said his food was fine. It was an expensive breakfast - $39 all up - and we will not be returning to Nino's. I didn't take any photos unfortunately as I didn't regard it as...
Read moreMy husband and I travelled from Adelaide for a nice date, hoping to enjoy our time and have a pleasant experience, but unfortunately we were treated very poorly. The staff showed racist and unprofessional behavior by not taking our orders properly and by making us feel unwelcome from the beginning.
When my husband ordered a large milkshake, it was served in a large glass. We politely asked if this was really how it was meant to be served, but instead of answering kindly, the lady at the counter became visibly annoyed and responded in a rude and dismissive tone. This made us feel extremely uncomfortable, as all we did was ask a simple question.
On top of that, we had ordered spaghetti carbonara, but the pasta was not even cooked properly — it still tasted raw and was unpleasant to eat. For the price and the reputation of this place, we expected much better quality and basic care in preparing the food.
This was not the first time we had visited, and sadly, both times we experienced the same unfriendly and unprofessional treatment. We left feeling ignored, disrespected, and singled out, as if we did not deserve the same level of service as other customers.
It is very disappointing, especially since we travelled all the way from Adelaide to enjoy a special day together. No customer should be treated with such a lack of respect or made to feel as though they do not belong. Experiences like this not only ruin what should have been a happy outing, but also reflect very poorly on the...
