I recently visited Amrin & Bros Indian Restaurant & Bar - Geelong with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment we placed our order, it was clear that this restaurant was far from satisfactory.
To start with, our order was completely messed up. Instead of the requested samosa chaat, we were served papadi chaat, which was a glaring mistake. The lack of attention to detail right from the beginning set a negative tone for the entire meal.
The garlic naan we received was far from appetizing. It lacked the freshness and taste that one would expect. The methai malai paneer was even worse, as it was utterly bland and lacking any flavor whatsoever. It seemed as though no effort was put into preparing the dish.
The chicken 65 biryani was a complete disaster. The rice itself was not even fresh; it looked like it had been removed from the refrigerator and not properly defrosted. The chicken was undercooked, emitting a raw smell that made it inedible. When we brought this concern to the waiter and requested that the chef double-check the dish, we were met with utter disregard. The response we received was not only dismissive but also disrespectful, as they claimed that the chicken was fully cooked according to the chef, despite the obvious evidence to the contrary.
Feeling disappointed and frustrated, we decided to return our dish and left the restaurant without having eaten much. The entire experience was incredibly unpleasant, and it left a bitter taste in our mouths, both figuratively and literally.
I cannot express enough how unsatisfactory and poorly managed our visit to Amrin & Bros Indian Restaurant & Bar - Geelong was. The lack of attention to detail, tasteless dishes, and the dismissive attitude towards customer concerns made this visit one to forget. I strongly discourage anyone from wasting their time and money at this...
Read moreThis was a most unpleasant dining experience. The staff was welcoming however the food was COLD. We had to request that the server heat our plates. Cold, the food tasted subpar however heated it was much more flavorful and palatable.
Indian buffet for about $20. We noticed multiple people revisiting the bar using the same plate they just ate on. My husband mentioned to the staff which she just smiled and I assumed was a language barrier between their communication.
I go ask for another plate and the server advises they have a rule and I said what is it. She said it’s a per plate charge. I told her I am not paying you for another plate. It’s quite gross to have folks eating off a plate and bringing that same plate up again to refill. She proceeded to tell me they recommend people use the same plate and that table 2 did it with no problem.
Just as I was about to respond another associate jumps in and says I think there has been a misunderstanding. I said no, I understood exactly what she said to me. The 2nd associate then says it’s ok if I want to get another plate and there is no per plate price. The 2nd associate said I think she was saying there is a fee if food is wasted. I said that is not what she said to me. Eventually after all associates went in the back, the 1st associate did come by and offer an apology.
What dining experience are customers being offered? Are they too busy or lazy to wash plates? That’s about the strangest and nastiest I’ve experienced and let’s not forget the food was cold. There was also not the first vegetable dish. The chili chicken had some veggies but there was no vegetable only dishes.
I typically love Indian food but hot or cold, this was by far was my...
Read moreMy family & I booked a table for my birthday and paid for the 3 course meal all-you-can-eat buffet. While the restaurant and atmosphere is lovely and we were greeted nicely by staff, the food experience was not the best.
There was no 3 course meal all-you-can-eat buffet as advertised.
All up there were 4 curries (one butter chicken and 3 veg) each one had a very pleasant flavour. There was naan bread and rice provided. I guess the naans were the entrees.
This is the first time I have ever been to an Indian restaurant (or any restaurant for that matter) to be served luke-warm food. I told the waitress and it looked like she turned up the bain-marie but when we got up to get more food about 20mins later the curries were still cold. This is a potential health & safety hazard. After about an hour, I noticed there were no desserts anywhere. I asked one of the servers and she didn't seem to know. It seemed like it was a last minute thought when 3 small tubs that were filled with what was like cold mango soup were brought out to our table. It was runny and was more like a drink. Very sickly sweet. I was thinking desserts would be more along the lines of gulab jamun or pistachio ice cream or any nice traditional Indian sweets. Not once did waitresses come to our table checking in with us or asking if our meals were OK which is pretty standard in restaurant service. I think with those few things improved, it would be a...
