Okami is an absolute gem when it comes to all-you-can-eat Japanese dining, and my experience there was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance set the tone for an unforgettable meal. The restaurant had a warm, welcoming atmosphere, with sleek, modern decor infused with subtle traditional Japanese elements. The lighting was just right—bright enough to appreciate the beautifully plated dishes but dim enough to create a cozy and intimate dining experience. The seating was comfortable, and even though the place was bustling with diners excitedly enjoying their meals, it never felt overcrowded or chaotic. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, greeting us with warm smiles and promptly showing us to our table.
One of the most impressive aspects of Okami was the ordering system. Unlike some all-you-can-eat establishments that require guests to get up and serve themselves buffet-style, Okami offers a more refined experience where you order from a menu, and the dishes are brought directly to your table. This not only ensures that everything is freshly prepared but also allows you to enjoy a more relaxed and personalized dining experience. The menu was extensive, covering a vast range of Japanese delicacies, from sushi and sashimi to tempura, grilled dishes, and even comforting bowls of miso soup and ramen. It was clear that Okami had something for everyone, whether you’re a sushi lover, a fan of grilled meats, or someone who enjoys lighter, more traditional dishes.
The sushi and sashimi were absolute standouts. Every piece of sashimi was sliced to perfection, incredibly fresh, and practically melted in my mouth. The salmon, in particular, was so buttery and flavorful that I found myself ordering multiple servings. The sushi rolls were equally impressive—expertly crafted with just the right balance of rice, fish, and other ingredients. The spicy tuna roll had the perfect kick of heat, while the dragon roll, topped with eel and avocado, was a delightful blend of flavors and textures. One of my personal favorites was the seared salmon nigiri, lightly torched to bring out a smoky depth while still maintaining its delicate, fresh taste.
The hot dishes were just as remarkable. The tempura was incredibly light and crispy, with a batter that was airy and never greasy. The prawns were plump and sweet, while the vegetable tempura offered a satisfying variety, from eggplant to pumpkin. The grilled skewers, or yakitori, were another highlight. The chicken skewers were juicy and packed with smoky charred goodness, while the beef skewers were tender and full of umami-rich flavors. The teriyaki dishes were also a must-try—the salmon teriyaki was cooked to perfection, its sweet and savory glaze enhancing the natural richness of the fish. The beef teriyaki was equally delicious, with a succulent texture that paired beautifully with the accompanying rice.
One of the things I truly appreciated about Okami was the generous portions and the attention to detail in every dish. Unlike some all-you-can-eat places where the quality suffers due to the high volume of food being served, Okami maintains an...
Read moreI don't think i can rate any star for this place. I had such terrible experiences. I will never ever come back here again. First of all, i think the owner should update the opening hours, because when i saw this restaurant open until 10pm. I was so excited to ring the phone lines many times, but no one pick up. Then i decided to go there around 9pm. Only 2 small groups of customer, not even busy, but no one pick up the phone. Secondly, one of the FOH was so rude. I think he has zero experiences as FOH. He denied my request to changed table (my table was right next to front door, it was freezing). He served my food in the take away container and give me a lid straight away. Be honest, if i want take away food, i should have just stay home and place order, what the point of going dine in and get the food in take away and pay for price dine in. It's so ridiculous. The most thing unacceptable was serving RAW pork katsudon. He spent couple of miniutes for argue with me that the pork was not raw, but he forgot i'm not blind. Then he showed it to the Chef, and of course i was right. He said the oil iwas not hot enough and the pork was FROZEN, that's y it's raw. This is not how you explain to customer, where were the appologies? The pork katsudon was raw, the chicken katsudon was cook with black burning edges, but at least it cooked. I'm happy to pay for chicken because i took one bite already, but not for the pork. But the FOH still wanted to ask us pay for the raw food and told us that he let us in was already a favour. WHAT. I'm not begging for anything, so don't you dare to say it. Just one word i can...
Read moreYesterday 5th April 2019 I took my partner for date kight at Okami. We arrived at 5:25PM, the start of dinner service. After sitting down we decided to go with the all you can eat option. Apart from one other table we were the only other people there. This was out third visit, all other visits were great.
We ordered four dishes, two were dried and two were sushi/nigiri. We got the first two fried dishes within five minutes and it was great. However the next two dishes never came out.
We waited 10 minutes before asking the waitress if the order was placed and how far they were, she advised it was definitely ordered and that it was being made. Another five minutes and we asked another waiter how long it would be and he said he'll check.
He then went to the kitchen, and walked away. He then turned back to the kitchen and came out with two plates of nigiri coming to our table, before he was told by the kitchen to take elsewhere. He looked at us disappointed and realised he should've gave it to us.
We then watched as the waiters were handing out food to multiple tables that came after us, including serving more sushi. After 25 minutes of waiting we decided we had enough. We got up and went to the counter to tell them that it was ridiculous that all these other tables were being served, there was no communication to us even after raising it multiple times.
I advised we would not be paying and walked out. Unless we're contacted about this visit, I won't be coming back and I will be sure to let family and friends know of...
