Aperloo's Family Bakery — Restaurant in Victoria

I was very dissatisfied with the attitude of the lady who served myself and my partner. I prefer not to leave reviews, but in this instance, I felt it was necessary. She was highly irritable, snappy, abrupt and rude. We had just been to a sensitive medical appointment and thought we'd have some lunch, only to be greeted by a very angry woman, there wasn't anyone else waiting. No, we did not feel it was necessary to discuss it with the owner because frankly, the assumption was that she may have been the owner or the owner probably knew and tolerated that behavior. No sense coping a potential second round. Despite the response from the owner suggesting that we're 'making it up to hurt the business' that is what happened. You actually made me feel bad about being made feel bad, figured maybe one star was a bit rough so I added a star. Had there been some professionalism, I would have just deleted it or increased the rating. Amicability can...

So very disappointed with my order. My son's 10th birthday cake, although not the most expensive , because as a pensioner I couldn't afford hundreds of dollars for a themed cake but I did not expect to receive a cake that had been obviously damaged and had an attempted repair. Not a word from Aperloos about the issue but it wasn't even square!! The icing looked as though it had been done by an amature & the edible print that we expected to be a quality edible image was merely a standard rice paper print. All in all I felt sorry for my little boy on his day. I wish I hadn't paid in advance because I could of refused it upon delivery which was also more than 30mins later than promised, .which isn't the be all & end all but not what was expected. ..I could go on about other problems with the cake but I am only frustrating...

I would recommend Aperloo Bakery. We just moved into the area not long ago and needed a cake for my daughters birthday. From my first phone conversation with Aperloo I was impressed with their phone manner and willingness to help. When I went into the bakery to order again I was delighted with the customer service and not to mention the prices. I did order quite a simple cake so I’m not sure if they do those really fancy drip cakes or not but for me the taste means more to me and we all loved it! It was well balanced and fresh and I will definitely be going back for celebration cakes and can’t wait to try...
