Felt like a Laksa while in Geelong and thought I would try this place …walked into a nice looking place and greeted by a nice person at the counter .Thats where this ended for me . Ordered their special seafood Laksa ,priced at $27 which by far makes it the most expensive Laksa I have had..to add to that they slap me with a holiday surcharge and a card payment surcharge which took the cost upto $35 which is an INSANE amount to pay for a Laksa .the best ever Laksa in Melbourne cost me $25
Anyways am always happy to pay a bit more if it tastes good ,but good lord was it horrible …broth was weak and tasteless …anyone who thinks their Laksa is good come meet me and I’ll show you how rich a Laksa broth should be ..horrible this one was
I would not pay anything for this Laksa ..$35 was a rip off ..he’ll $27 is a rip off …never eating here One for the owners/chef …this is your cuisine from your country, representing everything good about your food ..at least take pride in it and make it like it...
Read moreWARNING TO VEGETARIANS & VEGANS After eating and ordering the vegan laksa here 3 times(as we were told it was an option), we returned last night for another bowl. We asked for the vegan laksa option, like we’ve always done, and the girl said sorry and that the laksa cannot be vegan as they use chicken stock/powder. Her words were “so it can only be vegetarian, not vegan.” 🤔😵💫 we explained that it cannot be vegetarian even if it has chicken stock in it?! She then said there was a soup with plant based pork, but said the broth was still chicken based! This is really misleading and not ethical at all. I left a 5 star review after our first visit which I have now deleted. We left without ordering anything. You cannot put plant based in the title of a food item when it still contains animal products. It’s a shame as they do have actual vegan options, however we...
Read moreA very welcome addition to the restaurant scene on Ryrie St in Geelong! Their 'soft launch' menu gives a teaser taster of the Malaysian culinary delights L&B Co offers. We thoroughly enjoyed our generous serves of sliced fish rice vermicelli soup and pan mee - reminiscent of busy coffee shops in KL and PJ, but in the cool comfort and modern ambience of a thoughtfully laid out establishment. The chef was accommodating to our request for sliced fish in place of deep fried fish in the noodles, which was served in a tangy rich seafood-based broth with greens and preserved vegetables. The pan me was equally authentic - handmade noodles with fried ikan bilis and bakchor (though the spinach was a local twist in place of chyesim!). We look forward to their extended menu once they officially open, and we will be back with our makan kaki for a Malaysian...
