the atmosphere in there is not very nice at all, the music is too loud and you have to talk so loud just to hear anything
the menu is so simple we dont need the waitress to come around and explain it to us, instead you need to have a description under items. e.g the turnip greens and the burger royale, i only know what the turnip greens are because i ordered them, and if i had known i wouldn't have! a little description under things isn't a big ask and makes a huge difference
onto the food, below average, had a chicken burger. the only nice thing was the chicken. the onion ring was this big deep fried ball of batter that tasted terrible, the cheapest looking and tasting cheese was off putting and wasn't very nice either. im pretty sure it was those disgusting cheese slices from a packet that weren't melted by the chef so i was left with c warm stiff cheese. the turnip greens were not very nice, and again if the menu said what they were i wouldn't have given them a shot, i would assume that turnip greens would be a salad of some sort
when you mix in bad atmosphere, uncomfortable chairs, loud music and average food, i don't think i'll be back for a while.
constructively, turn the music down a bit, get some chairs with a back on them so i don't have my jumper on my lap while i eat, put a description on the menu of the food, and rotate the tables on the wall so people have...
Read moreThis is one level higher than Evil Chicken level, not listed in the menu. Sort of a secret menu. Wrong choice because I was after crispy chicken, I should have clearly stated it or asked more details, but not knowing they serve non-crispy hot chicken wings.
The additional chili coat to the wings gave a strong smell of raw chili, my nose could tell when it was placed on the table, that it shouldn’t be in a well done meal. It is the smell of raw chili powder before cooking, unpleasant. The coat was moist, covering the whole chicken wing and ruined my first dining expectation on crispy spicy chicken. The moist chili coat was definitely burning my lips and stomach, but not tasty. One good thing is that the chicken wings are juicy.
If I come again, I’ll sure ask for crispy choices available. Those won’t go too wrong. I agree with other reviewers saying the menu is difficult to understand, you’d need to ask the staff on details especially for first timers.
Fries were good I liked them. There was a bottle of honey on the table to comfort the spiciness, which was a good thought...
Read moreI have been here 4 or 5 times now and love the fried hot wings. I sometimes travel from Melbourne just to eat at hot chicken project I am obsessed with fried chicken. Great recipe with good flavour and ample spice and crunch (I get the 'damn hot' option). However.... the service this time was terrible, I was made to feel like I was at someone's house, and felt as though I was an inconvenience or something and not an actual paying customer. All my questions were met with one word answers. My partner asked what cocktails were available and the staff member just pointed at the sign. I then asked what beers were available on tap, again he just pointed at the sign like we were stupid or something. It was just an overall attitude thing that made us both feel uncomfortable. The prices are also pretty high for what you get (the wings look smaller than in the past). I got 4 wings with fries, my partner 3 wings with fries and we had 1 cocktail and 1 beer on tap. This came to $97. If we are spending this much we at least expect better service. Unfortunately you will not be...
