Chao Thai — Restaurant in Victoria

FOOD POISONING Last night we ordered 4 meals, stir fry cashew nuts, pad see ew, pad thai and green curry, all chicken dishes with satay chicken for entrees from Chao Thai - Wodonga. Pick up was approximately 9pm. On opening each container food was drenched with oil and sauces. No dish appeared to have been freshly cooked. Vegetables, cashew nuts and noodles were very soft and mushy. Immedately after eating only a portion of the meal my wife and I feIt sick with a heavy stomach. This was followed up later that night with diarrhea and vomiting. This morning I called to speak with the owner about our experience. The lady who claimed to be the owner quickly denied any responsibility after confirming our order and time of pick up. She kept insisting that our food poisoning was not a result of her food. She was disinterested and dismissive about our experience and kept denying any responsibility. She made no attempt to resolve my concern and hanged up while I was still talking to her! It is very disappointing to see a local business serving this quality of food and showing a total disrespect to customers that have experienced a case of food poisoning. Her attitude reflects an apathetic approach to the quality of food served and her interaction with customers if a complaint is made. DO NOT EAT AT...

Very generous portions. And I mean it. Got the stir-fried red curry, in all chicken, beef, and prawn dishes. It feels like they use the same herbs as of income. Not bad. Tried it three times, got an gastrointestinal upset on all three occasions the day after. Probably it has to do with my choice of extra spices, you never know. Chicken spring rolls are good as well. The only issue is that the waiter who served me the first time could not speak proper English, and could not explain to me how does two select dishes come. As a waiter in a restaurant offering a specific niche of cuisine, you should know better. Price on the higher side as well. But, good value for money. Very spacious restroom. The atmosphere isn't that great, I didn't like the design, tables situated mostly on the walls/glass. Feels like a class or in a funeral service...

Had a joint birthday party here with friends and family, 30+ people so a very large booking. The night was a lot of fun, food was all amazing as always, very authentic Thai food. The service was a little unorganized and lacklustre at times but probably because of such a large group. However we found we had to clear our own dishes from the tables at the end as they seemed not to be at all concerned at the fact there was plates and dishes and cutlery and rice bowls everywhere and no room to move or do the birthday cakes. We had to ask for cake plates and a knife to be brought out too as they wer'nt provided when the cakes came out. It was an ok night all in all, just need to work on their bar and table service.
