Commercial Hotel — Restaurant in Victoria

Where to start…. I ordered a bruschetta which was very very bland wasn’t worth eating so didn’t bother, also waitress just plopped it on the table and walked off so back to the kitchen I went for side plates. I also ordered a medium-well steak for my off sider. I knew we had issues when the steak came out within 10 minutes so back off to the kitchen it went with the wait staff just having a laugh about it . So I ate my meal while my off sided just sat and watched I was well and truly done by the time his steak came out. I spoke to the bar staff about the issue and was told ooh the chefs haven’t been here long apparently that makes it ok, no compensation for my off sides having to sit there and watch me eat or vide Vera. Wait staff need a lot of training as there table manners and service wasn’t great and yes I understand there young but that’s when to teach. And yes I am a chef and have run restaurant’s myself and it’s not on. Bar staff were great. And we are in the middle of winter and the fly’s in the bar area were ridiculous. Disappointed with management and staff. I called ahead of time asking if they were viewing the UFC fight that afternoon and I was told yes they definitely were, not that I felt I had to call cos what pub doesn’t view big cards. Anyway I get there, it’s not on the screens and there’s about 20 people already seated and waiting. One bloke asks the staff, so she calls up a manager who asks if they have to pay for it or not and when they found out it cost $50 he ultimately said no. The staff jokingly tells everyone how it’s not her fault as she was told they were showing it that day but then we overheard her laughing with another staff member how she ASSUMED they were and laughed about how many calls she’d taken that day and told us all the same answer. It’s really not funny when we all planned our day around this event and driving to Swan hill. Also what’s $50 when you’ve got 20 people there all drinking over the course of 4 hours for a ufc fight. Nice place pitty about day staff 1 young lady who wouldn't give her name only rude service with a very bad attitude after winning on pokies and asking about my win , she even refused to serve us and then yelled at us to get out after we received our cheque, 3 patrons who were also disgusted in her behaviour 1 of them taped her bad behaviour on their phone and would gladly give it to the owner, ,this isn't a way to serve your customers and then go tell locals about it very rude indeed , we never raised our voices or said anything offensive, shout out to the owner if your after proof of that staff member, also she called the manager and gave her side of the story , so when we were approached by her she was just as rude and then walked away if that was even that was manager as she said she was away and then she calls her, anyway I'd never return and if you win over 2k they pay by cheque, in other states they pay cash....
