Donkey Fried Chicken, Kyneton — Restaurant in Victoria

We gave this place one star for the friendly gentleman behind the bar but that's where the positives end. The food was appaling and I would rate it a zero. We placed our order over the phone for four adults and two children with no change from a greenback and I was looking forward to trying the chicken burger without jalapenos. I was told that I could not order a burger with modifiers. When I'm paying 23 bucks for a burger, if I want it without jalapenos, how hard is it to leave the friggin things off? I work in hospitality and would never tell a customer anything like this. They can use whatever excuse they decide to come up with but I was dumbfounded by the ladies response. They are now $23 poorer. Great business sense!!! Unfortunately, this was just the beginning. We had to wait over an hour for our food to be ready, the corn was burnt with just a hint of lime and no paprika to be found. The chips were cold, the kids chicken was dry and the coating on the main chicken pieces left a lot to be desired. My mates burger was "garbage" and if he wasn't so hungry, he wouldn't have eaten it (I am now thankful that I saved my 23 bucks.) Worst of all was the Mushroom and Cauliflower in panko crumb. For $14 there was not a single mushroom to be found, nada, zip! The cauliflower was dry and tasted like it was refried from yesterday. The menu sounds great but do not let this fool you out of your hard earned. We won't be making that mistake again and can only warn others against eating the food here. Gutted and hungry, I ended up eating one of my awesome take home cold pork pies from a local food store that does...

We were running late, not unusual for us, rang to give them a heads up of our eta, sweet as on the phone. Hit the deck running at 8.10pm ordered a beer, from the tap, and a Jamaican Alcoholic Ginger beer for the boss. We didn't muck around and ordered our tucker, Here is my first mistake... We ordered entrees Panko crumbed pickles with accompanying chilli sauce and blue cheese sauce and Macc and cheese. delivered hot steaming and tasty. The Boss had the chilli bowl and it looked and tasted amazing but here is where the mistake was made....... I ordered the Ruben Kincaid Burger with 250gms of smoked Pastrami, cabbage slaw, pickles, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing and a s%$#t load of lightly salted fries...I know, I know, your thinking piggy.....your correct. The boss presented himself for a quick chat and we mentioned my error, loud as you like he laughs and looks straight at me and goes, "you ordered the Kinkaid, man you do that first, concentrate on that, the rest comes after", and walked away laughing..... mongrel... ahahahah the atmosphere is subdued and thank god not deafeningly loud and the choice of music is very very good.
