As corporate operators come and go with their millions and their cookie cutter, sterile rooms, Jerry is the best operator that has stood the test of time on Falls Creek. Ever.
Authentic? 100% Ski in, ski out 100% Traditional Austrian ski lodge 100% Food - proper traditional Eastern Europe hearty dishes 100%
Unlike the typical, Instagram-ready sexy hotels and restaurants, Jerry offers you a clean, warm, and wonderful level of hospitality that many under 30 have never experienced.
JBs Bar and Restaurant is a Falls Creek staple - warm, welcoming, traditional - Gluwine, German brews, Goulash, Schnitzel. The music is straight out of the Austrian Alps.
Accommodation is warm and authentic - cuckou clocks, German and Austrian trinkets adorn the entire building.
And Jerry himself - a Falls Creek legend. Known by everyone, friends of many.
I've been here a few times over the years, but this time with my 8 year old son, we skied and Jerry made us feel absolutely welcome in his home that he has called his since 1986.
Recommended for anyone that wants to experience the authenticity of a traditional ski holiday. Not like the sterile, cookie cutter chalets, but true, real, warm.
The Austrians, the Swiss, the French invented skiing - do yourself a favour and stay and eat at Jerry's next time you want to experience how it all started.
Cannot recommend more than this....
Read moreMyself and 9 others entered without greeting/acknowledgement and were left unattended for 5 minutes (there were 2 other tables with a couple on each) from the false outdated information provided online we thought we would be paying $55 ahead for all you can eat, shortly after the man we presumed to be the owner acknowledged us the first course came out which was quite nice, my friend tried to order a corona as it was in the menu but was told there was none and she could have another beer “made by Mexicans” and it would taste the same, soft drinks were flat, watered down and glasses not full. Once the all you can eat main course came out there were small servings and there was enough for one thing per person, 80% of this food was either Luke warm or tasted bad, once we had finished and were ready to pay there was an unknown $20 increase per person, after asking about this price we viewed online, he told us that the prices online were wrong and have been out dated since 2020 (the only menu we could see was on the front door, there wasn’t one provided on the table nor were we given any choice on what food we wanted or if we had any dietary requirements) False advertising online led to us being out of pocket for sloppy service and poor food. Highly recommend never going here, hope this review saves people from a...
Read moreAll you can eat restaurnt , well hot food is never in the serving trays so you can't actually eat it. Now the schnitzels are so thin that if u sneeze it will fly away, I have measured the thickness of the schnitzel against the blade of the knife and it was basically the same thickness. Soup was some kind of a blended potato , no Salt or other spices where added while or after it was cooked. Now to the highlight of the dinner, 3 kinds of sausages all of them not much bigger than your average pinky :))) but if you do enjoy German music from the 70's then you should definitely...
