Klua Sathorn — Restaurant in Victoria

We chose the restaurant at random during while driving back from Bendigo to Creswick in torrential rain in the dark. We were happy with our choice of restaurant. We ordered the chicken meatballs as an entree and these were fun and very delicious. Our mains were green curry with beef, and special duck red curry. The beef was a little tough but edible and didn't detract from the enjoyment of the curry. The curry had good flavour. The duck red curry was excellent. The pineapple and duck complimented each amazingly well. We also had a small side of rice that served the two of us without needing more. This was our favourite dish. We have just had the best night and eaten delicious Thai food including pork larb and green curry with prawns. We chose medium which was perfect - quite spicy. When they realised that we were there to celebrate a birthday they brought out cake and a candle which was a lovely, thoughtful touch. A big thank you to Archie - the friendly and hospitable manager/chef who gave us a history tour of the building which was a highlight for my history teacher husband. Archie’s mother cooks there 6 nights a week and she’s 78. Amazing ! We had a wonderful night. Thank you. Enjoy your holiday back...

A friend recommended this place and I was really looking forward to having pad kee mao. However, two key seasoning ingredients were missing - basil or chili. It just tasted like the noodles were cooked in a sweet-sour sauce. Rather disappointed. The pad Thai was also a bit of let down - it was rather bland and the beef slices were very dry.
