La Porchetta Restaurant Shepparton — Restaurant in Victoria

Servers were polite. We ordered starters and mains for four with drinks. One drink was completely wrong and they sent out one main five minutes before the starters came out.

One dish was excellent and that was the beef ragu with gluten free pasta.

On the other hand one dish was a complete disaster. It was listed as an eggplant parmigiana. What actually came out was a bowl of brown goop. There was probably half an eggplant sliced into numerous strips that were submerged in the brown goop. It did not resemble a parmigiana, it did not taste anything like a parmigiana.

The dish wasn’t eatable and was left. When the plates were collected at the end of the meal I politely told the server that it wasn’t a parmigiana and that it wasn’t good.

I was given a simple “sorry, I’ll inform the chef” but when I went to pay for the bill was still charged the $26.90 for it.

I wouldn’t return to this restaurant nor would I give it a go if you’re visiting Shepparton.

Chefs/cooks that don’t know how to prepare simple dishes shouldn’t be working in kitchens, and business’s that can’t take responsibility for their mistakes and instead charge their customers for them need to take a hike. It’s 2022 and we’re in a wonderful state with great produce and service everywhere....

I had heard a few bad things so I put off going here, but got invited tonight and was quite happy. Food was good, service was good, coffee was good (which is something I can't say for most places) so I went in not expecting much but quite enjoyed it. It's a little on the expensive side of you were just looking for a quick lunch by yourself but that's what take out joints are for. For a restaurant where you go with friends and family the prices were pretty much mid range. Example, a main pasta and a coffee cost me around $25. Pretty reasonable. Desert was a bit on the expensive side though. We arrived before the main dinner crowd but by the time we left the place was really starting to fill up, but it didn't feel overly noisy or cramped. Our meals and drinks arrived surprising fast. Their ice cream isn't quite as good quality as the rest of their menu though, but that's the only bad thing any of us had to say and we were there for 2 hours. Their cheesy garlic bread made up for that though, and I typically hate...

I went there tonight with 2 friends. I am from Melbourne but they live in Shepparton and go there regularly. 2 of us had nice meals but the third person never got his meal. When he told the waitress there wasn’t even an apology. He then spoke with the manager who just shrugged his shoulders. Once again, absolutely no apology! At the very least, my friend could have been offered a voucher for another time. Their attitude was disgraceful and disappointing to say the least. I always go there when I am in Shepparton, often with at least 6 people. I doubt very much that I will ever return, particularly as I know for a fact that it is definitely not the first time that this has happened to him.
