Ok I was a big fan of this plpace pre shut down of Mexican Grafitti. Now after its almost like because there is no direct equal competitor that effort is not as required.
Last night we went (family of 5) and it was...average at best. Aside from the $232 price tag things looked like they changed.
Jalapeno poppers (my main drawcard for here) were terrible. They used to be fluffy and full of cheese...now they looked like sad chicken nuggest almost, paler coating, not much cheese. No stems out of them to hold them and just plain average at best.
The chilli con carne was oily and more like bolognese sauce with some beans.
Overall the food was fine, fresh and tasted ok but not like previous visits and not AS tasty as we remember.
The service was ok and friendly but slow. It took 20 minutes to get our entree from ordering and our drinks took longer, having gotten them 10 minutes into our entree seating.
I can't fault the staff, I would say the food was good quality just again some lets downs.
The Margarita was seved in a small glass and could have been presented better and more of it.
I question if I will return, something I can't put my finger on has changed there....perhaps understaffed? Not worth the $200 I spent for what was 5 drinks (1 alcoholic one), 1 serve of nachos, 1 serve of Fajitas, 2 chilli, 1 small entree nachos, tre dips and poppers.
The atmoshpere is warm, could do with a table and chair revamp looking like they are still the same ones from 2000 and like someone said 3 years ago and has been the case everytime we have been there over the past 2 years....sticky. Either need to change their "sanitser" or replace the lot, honestly it feels like they...
Read moreWent for a second time as first was great food. Left standing at the entrance while waitresses almost pushing past us for about 7 minutes. Clearly I was pregnant, (over 8 months) , waitress finally asked if we had a booking. We didnt, there were about 3 tables empty from the door and several more further in the restaurant. Said she needed to find a table and then said she needed to wipe and clear a table. People came in behind us, no booking, seated st8 away at a table we were close to. We sat there for a long while and saw the people behind us get served drinks. Got fed up and walked out. Went down the road to bistros 310, and received superb service and food. Never going back again. They didnt even...
Read moreBig servings, delicious food, fantastic service and a great selection of drinks at an affordable price. Don’t come here if you’re expecting fancy, refined Mexican food. This is proper Tex-Mex; tons of cheese, sauce and sour cream with plenty of spice if you ask for it. I rarely have food left on my plate after a meal but I struggled to get through the Enchiladas, and the Burrito was on point with the perfect amount of spice. The Nachos are legit; covered in cheese and massive servings. They also have some of the best beer there is; Modelo, Dos Equis and Coronas for $9 which is unheard of these days. Left here in a food coma and will be back again when the mood strikes....
