Red Smoke Bendigo — Restaurant in Victoria

We had two types of burgers, tasty and reasonable price. They were trying to push us out the door before 7.30, our booking was for 6.15. They did not tell us they had a second booking for our table, not when we booked, not when we sat down, not when we ordered entree and main, not when they brought out each course, not when they asked if we wanted dessert. I was still eating my main meal when the bill was placed on the table, again they did not tell us of the next booking for our table. The girl came to the table with the Eftpos machine as we were still finishing our drinks, when told to give us a minute only then were we told about the next booking. If we had been told about the next booking we could have run to get there 15 mins earlier and they could have made the next booking at 7.45 to give a little more time. We will not go back. I get that they have limited space and need a second seating to make it worthwhile, they need to be up front with their customers so they are not blindsided in the manner...

Went to red smoke before an engagement party in the area. We live in south eastern suburbs in Melbourne which is unfortunately 2 hours away. Restaurant has the most amazing food and service not to mention prices. If it was near us we would be going there all the time. We found this in a number of places we visited, Bendigo has really amazing friendly service with really reasonable prices. Since covid everything in the city and our area has just sky rocketed with many people not being able to afford eating out, also service and attitude has just plummeted. It's really nice to see that Bendigo has such an amazing level of service and has an absolutely amazing food industry. Heaps of lovely quaint restaurants in the area producing great cuisine. I would highly recommend Red Smoke restaurant and for people outside of the area, to travel to Bendigo for a day trip and support the local...

This place is hard to find . .as signage is bad .. The food portions for the prices were small ....we wanted to share ..but the starters were tiny ... We went 2.30 pm on a Sunday ( We rang first to confirm ...it was OK to come for late lunch ...5 of us ) no one else there .. But soon after we had eaton. Meal total cost. $125. and.enjoying a chat and coffees ...they were setting tables for the evening. ..2 of our table returned from the toilet ..the owner followed them to the table leaned in and said COULD YOU PLEASE LEAVE NOW ...or similar words ...my friends were so surprised they got up and pretended to want to leave ....and only when had left Bendigo did they tell me what was said and how...because they knew I would have got upset because I was the one that suggested going there .. so I would not suggest any one go there... the owner thought he was so...
