We booked a table for 5 (2 kids 3 adults) and when we arrived there was no table ready for us. The man cooking the pizzas (let’s call him pizza guy) didn’t say much and we just kind of stood there awkwardly waiting. After 10 minutes he pushed two tables together for us and we sat down. There were 4 glasses already on the table and a bucket of cutlery. We sat for 15 minutes and then a girl (let’s call her waiter girl) came to take our order. First I ordered a Shiraz off the menu, they had no Shiraz, literally none, no apologies or anything, what kind of a licenced restaurant doesn’t have Shiraz? We proceeded to order our meal. Waiter girl advised us that it’s free kids meals with every paid adult meal. Our original plan was to all share to save on costs as the kids wouldn’t eat a full meal each however considering they were free we got them both a kids meal. Waiter girl asked for desert orders and we said we didn’t want desert yet she advised it was included in the kids meals so ordered hoorah, both the kids ordered a desert. We waited another 10 or so minutes, still no drinks, my husband went and asked pizza man for water. He brought a bottle over and we shared the glasses that were already on the table. Our meals came out after quite a wait and all scattered, first mums, then my husbands, one of the kids, then mine and the other kid arriving last. Both pizzas were undercooked and ridiculously salty. My mum only ate one piece. My pasta was super salty and seemed as if it came out of a packet. My daughter’s spaghetti I’m pretty sure was tinned. Meals were very average. Now, because the whole shebang had taken so long we had to leave before the kids deserts came out (frog in a pond and a scoop of ice cream), my husband went to pay and the kids meals were on the bill. He told pizza guy that waiter girl had advised us kids eat free. He said only if the table is clear by 7pm. We weren’t told this prior to ordering and the only reason we were still there was because they had taken so long to serve us. Waiter girl didn’t mention anyhh they’re about having to be out of there by 7. Pizza guy argued annd anrgued however we refused to pay for the kids meals. He then shouted “I’ll fire her! She’s fired! Fine!” And shoved the eftpos machine to my husband in a huff. We paid minus the kids meals and left. Terrible service, average food, terrible experience. Do...
Read moreI lived in Bendigo a decade ago and travel there for work, JoJoes has always been our go to and it’s always nice to see the menu keeps a Penne pollo de pesto. I chose to eat there on Tuesday night and ordered my long time favourite. When it came out it was actually gnocchi instead of penne and when I tried to get eye contact with one of the 7 staff, I wasn’t able to get their attention. I was so hungry, I thought I’d try the gnocchi. Each mouthful, I looked up for a waitress, I watched them joking and helping with eye lashes, talking amongst themselves but each time, no eye contact. Once I’d had a few mouthfuls I thought I’d try again, after 10 minutes, and stopping to eat my meal to get some eye contact, the girl who originally served me, stayed behind the counter and asked me did I need something, I replied and said “I’ve been trying to get someones attention for quite some time and have been unable”, I said, “I actually ordered a Penne pollo de pesto, my meal is wrong, but I’m hungry and tried to eat it and I was wondering if I could have a garlic bread please”. Instead of the girl coming over and acknowledging that she had taken my order incorrectly and given me a meal that I didn’t ask for, her reply was “well every time I looked over at you you were eating”, which I found to be an extremely passive aggressive response to a paying client, when I was in fact a very gentle about the mistake and waiting so long to get eye contact, given I was the only person in the restaurant at the time. They then gave me my garlic bread in which I had two pieces and they told me they’d give me a discount, instead of asking me what I’d like. I then asked for takeaway containers and took the 1/4 eaten gnocchi and garlic bread. It’s disappointing to have to leave this review, but I’m doing so, as I’m sure the owner isn’t aware of what’s happening. My son has several birthdays here over the years and we have supported this restaurant extensively, so we know how great it can be. I hope my feedback improves the level of service and brings attention to the issues faced as a client. They did give me the garlic bread for free, however I would have preferred to get the dish I ordered...
Read moreI have been to jojo’s in Bendigo many times in the past it was always great taking little kids there.. .. I don’t know if it’s changed hands or just struggled with competition, but Thursday Lunch time was the worst pizza we have ever been served. The photos will show you that they literally swimming in liquid.. you couldn’t pick it up.. I attempted to use cutlery but it was just too gross.. my son had the Aussie pizza he tried to eat one bit but then said (sorry I just can’t it’s disgusting) I then noticed it had clumps of raw egg whites on it. I had vegetarian pizza, also sitting in liquid. My daughters meat lovers, the same soggy sitting in liquid. I will say though, on a positive note the girls including the cook were lovely. The 2 young girls should be praised for being sweet. I would never treat them badly over something that wasn’t their fault. The girl did a good job on the drinks… at pay time One of the girls asked me if everything was ok,, I don’t usually complain but I thought they are going to see we hardly touched the pizzas..So I told them they were really bad, and the reason why.. they both listened and agreed what I was saying was true and gave me my sons for nothing…but still cost $59 so that’s top $$$. I feel it’s so wrong to have a business you expect customers to pay top dollar but can’t provide top food!! I know you...
