Booked a table on a busy night during the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Art Gallery. Wait staff were personable and helpful, getting my wife cocktails without ice on a very cold evening. We started with some delicious stuffed jalapenos, then my wife had mushroom taquitos, and I had the beef combination. They kindly fulfilled my wish to leave off the mexi-rice and give me extra frijoles instead.I asked for some siracha or tabasco hot sauce and they don't have it, so I ordered a side of jalapenos. The combination with taquito, taco and enchilda was good, but could have been improved with a more generous amount of chile relleno sauce on the enchilada, and it would have been nice if served on a heated plate, rather than a cold one. The taco shell crumbled when I picked it up, which means it wasn't heated before fillings were added. Little things that would make a good meal fantastic!

Edit because I can't respond, the punch used the have a bit of a sour lime taste, and the beef fajitas used to be cooked in a pan, (definitely not flash fried, like the owner stated. I still have the leftovers in the fridge) the beef was darker and a bit pink inside with fresher veggies, I have been buying Mexican from here for over 25 years, birthdays anniversaries and all, was our go too, and for the owner to say it's the same when it's far from The takeaway beef fajitas are no longer crispy and nice, it's like it's just been taken out of a slow cooker watery and has a disgusting taste, their punch is now raspberry and was not told, this place used to be a favorite. Not anymore!!

You know when you feel like you want something different to eat? Well, that’s how I was tonight. I popped into the Mexican Kitchen and ordered a Nachos Supreme to takeaway. This local recipe and method goes back years, the Nachos was on a bed of frijoles topped with jalapeno peppers, cheese, guacamole, sour cream & salsa. The key with this meal is when you get home you can put the toppings on yourself. The meal was excellent and so was the service. The takeaway area is also separate from the restaurant which is also a great idea.Well done to the team!

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Rude staff, Rude Manager, Deplorable table service and manner, to the point where our food came out before our drinks. When ordering our drinks it literally took 15 minutes for our drinks to come out and had to approach the bar area and waiters were constantly waiting other tables long before ours. I certainly will not be returning back to this pathetic excuse of a restaurant that serve nothing but bad attitude and professionalism is non-existent. for a table of 7 people they certainly would have received a minimum of $400.00 and it was attitude after attitude delay in service and turning all the restaurant lights off around us before close of business. The Manager was pathetic and had no idea what was going on and was utterly rude. They certainly did not deserve anything and I will be telling all my friends and family and anyone i hear that thinks of going here to not go there. The parking is atrocious, and $18.00 for a shot of Tequila and orange juice, very overpriced. This is by far the worst encounter of ANY restaurant i have been to in Bendigo, very disappointing really for a...

Food: Good/Average. Drinks: Average. Service: Amazing. Notable point: Mexican topped with parsely not corriander.

Food : We ordered beef burrito and a el combination with a few sides all food was very mild and standard minimal spices I had asked for a hot sauce selection which they do not have, which I than asked if the could add a alot of heat/chilli to my meal which they said they could but that defintley never happened my meat was the mildest I have ever had and the most notable thing instead of serving mexican food with coriander it was topped with parsley.

Drinks: Margeritas on the other hand are the sweetest I have ever had and I ended up asking for them not too add sugar syrup/cordial type flavourings.

Service: Was amazing and could not be faulted.

Overall: A begginer or some one with a very bland pallett will enjoy the aussie twist put on mexican (bland non spicy meals and sweet drinks) but if your a mexican diehard or foodie steer clear you will be...

Food wasn't bad but the service...

Entered the store and was seated with three friends, ordered within five minutes (drinks, entrées and mains) and began chatting. About fifteen minutes go by and one member of our party go and ask the three girls chatting behind the counter where our drinks are. Another five minutes and drinks and entrées arrive.

After having been very explicit to tell the server taking my order that I wanted nachos with cheese, sour-cream and frijole as well as telling them I am allergic to tomato, they come out covered in salsa too.

Twenty minutes later, just as my friends finish their entrées, mine comes out.

I get no more than about a quarter into it and they bring out all our mains.

The meal was nice, but after a minor screw-up they make a big serving faux-pas and were still wanting to charge me for the entrée. In the end they struck it from the bill (the reason this is not a 1 star vote) and all...
