An absolute taste sensation! This delightful gem on High Street in Bendigo delivers an exceptional dining experience brimming with flavour, charm, and genuine hospitality. The moment you step through the door, you're warmly welcomed as though you've entered the host's own home. The consistently attentive service enhances the inviting atmosphere, making every visit memorable.

Their seasonal menu is thoughtfully crafted, featuring dishes that showcase creativity and care. To stay updated on their tantalizing offerings, it's definitely worth following their Instagram, you're sure to find your next favourite dish.

Standout dishes include the beautifully presented Tuna Tataki and the irresistibly flavourful Pumpkin Croquettes. If you spot the Beef Carpaccio on the menu, don't hesitate, it's truly a must-try. Fans of authentic Japanese potato salad will also find their cravings wonderfully satisfied here.

The cocktail menu is equally impressive, offering vibrant concoctions inspired by international recipes. Highly recommended are the New York Nights and the refreshing Yuzu Gin Sour. Additionally, the thoughtfully curated selection of sake and canned Japanese beverages perfectly complements the cuisine.

Outdoor seating beneath the verandah is particularly enjoyable during warmer months, while the charming laneway adorned with quirky signage and lanterns adds an extra touch of ambiance.

While walk-ins are accommodated, reservations are highly advised to secure your spot. This fantastic spot is undoubtedly one of Bendigo’s culinary highlights, a dining experience not...

TAKE AWAY FOOD WAS COLD! I don’t appreciate the manager for accusing me for being 25 minutes late for picking up my cold food! Extremely unprofessional!

I did everything I was supposed to do- Ordered it online Received a text Got in my car (5 minute drive) Entered restaurant & told to sit down for 5 minutes because it ‘wasn’t ready’ Took it home & discovered it was cold, especially the gyoza.

I rang & complained. I was told by booking agent that a new hot gyoza was going to be delivered to me. Then 1 minute later, I received a call from the restaurant manager accusing me that I was 25 minutes, that’s why the food was cold. AND refused to deliver me a new one, even though I was told that by the booking agent 1 minute prior that it would!

She told me the text I initially received stated that I’d have to be there in 15 minutes. WRONG!! No information on text. I have a screen shot to prove it.

They had no set up where they could keep food warm. NOT MY PROBLEM

But what I’m wondering is why they told me to sit down for 5 minutes because it wasn’t ready? Obviously it was and it was sitting there getting colder!

I mean how dare she accuse me of being 25 minutes late! What sort of professionalism is that?!

So Harpoon - get your act together! Buy a facility to keep your food warm Make it crystal clear on your text the the person must be there in 15 minutes! And DON’T accuse me for being late when you forced me to sit down & ...

I have been to Harpoon many times and I've never had a bad meal or bad service. Most recently, I went with my boyfriend who is from out of town. We arrived 10 minutes early to our booking but were able to be seated, even though the place was packed (thought maybe we would have to wait the 10 minutes).

While the service was only a little slow, it's understandable when there were multiple large groups and both outside and inside were fully booked. Staff were super helpful and friendly as always. I was quite indecisive on ordering a soft drink and didn't know what I wanted so they did it as a "surprise drink" which was great because they chose something that most people would like - Ramune, which also has the "fun" aspect of the marble with it. My boyfriend and I had the fries (vegan style), the Chinese broccoli, Tantanmen Ramen and the Tofu Ramen. Portions are very generous, all the food was very hot and super, super delicious. They also have a great vegan menu and have a great selection of meals to...

I can’t believe they aren’t registered in Zomato! Anyway, my friend suggested to go here and you definitely need to book to get a table as the place is quite small. I love the vibe and decor, it’s kinda retro but mixed with neon lights, definitely has Japan feel to it, which is nice in Bendigo to have a cool place like this. The dishes are to share, except you want to have ramen. We had agedashi tofu dish, chinese broccoli, cauliflower karage, and pork belly bao. Everything was beautiful except cauliflower karage, which i found a bit bland and I would love if they are cut smaller so they could be crispier on the outside. The winner dish is the Chinese broccoli, which was swimming in the kewpie mix sauce. You can’t go wrong with kewpie dressing, so that was so nice to have lots of it haha. I also love their agedashi tofu sauce. Overall very happy with the atmosphere, the creativity of the dishes and presentation. Would love to come back.

Normally fusion means confusion but this place is anything but! This mostly Japanese/Asian fusion was so good. The ramen was delightful, broth extremely flavourful and generous portions. I had the shoyu ramen and my partner had the yuzu one. The only fault we had was the chashu pork was a touch dry and not as flavourful as other chasu we've had. The bao dessert was generous as you get 2 baos so perfect for sharing. The dessert was very well balanced, my partner doesn't even like anko (red bean) and he devoured his bao. We sat in the alley area, great spot for mild weather and not being in view of passer-bys. The interior as great, so much to see but it was very warm and stuffy when we arrived, they did just opened after all so that's why we opted for the side area. The inside would be amazing during winter though. If you're visiting Bendigo on a weekend, you should definitely check this place out.
