Schnitz Geelong — Restaurant in Victoria

The Franchisee should be worried about how abominably bad this outlet is. We arrived at a time when they weren't at all busy, in hindsight we can see why. We placed our order which had to be pointed out to the person taking the order that they actually were meals in Schnitz's menu. Paid for them, waited, waited, waited some more. Asked the person what was happening with our order, they looked at the computer and said that "we are waiting for some fresh chicken". During this enforced wait there was sometimes 3 people in the cooking area, mostly looking at phones, flicking gloves at each other, no action cleaning the place up, schnitzels just sitting on top of the bench, filthy glass in front of the bain-marie. They made about 8 wraps for different take-away and 2 sit down orders. Sat at our table in the empty restaurant for a bit longer, they could have chased down, killed, plucked and made the "fresh chicken" that they were supposedly waiting for into schnitzels themselves in the time that we waited. Asked again what was happening with our meal and, this is the answer that turned our stomachs, "I went to the toilet and the other person was supposed to make them." Nope, we got a refund and will NEVER...

Not often I feel the need to share negative experiences on here but the service I received at this schnitz was very poor.

The trainee working on the front counter seemed so disengaged and unhappy and was not interested at all in being there. Kept stacking the fridge when I was waiting, Barely made eye contact taking my order, didn’t repeat order back etc..

The restaurant was very unclean. I understand it’s busy but most tables were unoccupied however hadn’t been cleaned. Seats unclean and the floor throughout the restaurant was very greasy.

The food was to a good standard however I feel like the portion size at schnitz is forever decreasing and it no longer feels like food value for money. Also I ordered a large chips which was really poorly filled and I could have gotten as much if I ordered a small.

I also returned to the front to order a gravy for my chips and was given a new table number. The gravy never turned up so I went up and let them know l, and was given it and an apology but it was stone cold :(

It may be best to avoid this restaurant when it is busy.

Service is fast if you're an UBER eats driver or ordering take-away. You are neglected if you're dining in. I went for dinner with a friend, whilst she was on her work break. After waiting over 20 minutes, I went to check on the order and was assured it was the next to be prepared. Once I asked for the order, it took barely 5 minutes to come out. There was a lady with her two children in the booth across from us, who were already seated when we arrived and she had also not received her order. Upon seeing our order arrive, she too questioned where her meals were. When their order was brought out, the chips for the meals were missing off the plates and they had to bring them out for her. I get it's Christmas season, but the turn around for take-away orders was quick, and dine in customers were neglected. This store needs to find a happy balance with having everyone receive their...
