Bay City Geelong Motel — Hotel in Barwon South West

Awesome location close to cbd, 2 blocks from the waterfront and easy walk to various pubs, cafes and places to eat. Located on a main road, but very quiet and easy to miss the driveway if you're not looking for it. Excellent price for the location and compared to others in the area. I read before booking that the rooms were refurbished 2 years ago, and they were. They styling is modern, sleek and clean, and I really like it. This is one of the cleanest motel rooms I have ever stayed in. The cleaner wasnt quite funished qhen we arrived to check in, but that was no issue to us as we wanted to stretch our legs with a walk after a 6 hour drive. The cleaner and office staff were extremely apologetic and the service was excellent. The queen deluxe room is a good, comfortable size and the bed super comfortable. The foxtel works and the instructions for use in the folder are clear and easy to follow. We will definately stay here again when we come...

My son and I had a very unpleasant experience during our stay, so much so that we left a day early. The host was rude and most unhelpful (she probably should reconsider her choice to work in the hospitality industry) when we couldn't make it to our accomodation in time for check in, caused by unforeseen transport delays out of our control. Unbelievable that there is no solution for late arrivals e.g. key lock box. The room was spacious but the wafer thin walls made the noise and loud music coming from the guests next to our room, it seemed like we were at a Nightclub. In fairness to the host the music was turned down after her second request was followed. Smoking on the balcony seemed to be encouraged given the placement of the ashtrays less than a satisfactory distance from room doors. The room was clean and in a good location with onsite parking. Ok so booked over the phone for 3 rooms with no follow-up email from both me or the hotel and when we got down there she said that I booked the next night. So I paid for three nights on the Sunday night and then had to repay for another two rooms for that night and friends had to go somewhere else. So my other daughter is a 30 today and she wanted to use the rooms so I'll run up and asked if we could take the rooms. We'll just take them cuz it already paid for them and she said it was ok. Then she rang and said that she needed a bond and photo ID for everyone that was staying in the rooms and I said well instead of taking three rooms we'll just take the two if there's you know a price difference and because she gave us a discount of $40 last night because of the mix up this is uncalled for. It's really ridiculous and she was quite rude so...
