Service, flavour and a relaxed feel. I shot down Pako St after about 4:30pm looking for a strong coffee and a a chilled place to finish the day's work. Finding all the other cafes closed a quick google search suggested the Steampocket and I'm glad it did. A much needed latte was quickly delivered after ordering and the less needed sausage roll was quick to follow. Setting up in their heated semi-outdoor area I knuckled down and smashed out some work with a family friendly after school buzz going on around me. Cam and the Steampocket team did a phenomenal job catering our cocktail garden party wedding. Everyone has been raving about the food since! They used beautiful seasonal produce, and were open to ANY food and drinks requests for the menu. All kitchen and bar staff on the day were lovely, and adapted to the unexpected conditions of a 40 degree day! Whenever we spoke with Cam in the leadup he was engaged and focused solely on our wants and needs for the event, and on the day he was so attentive, making sure my husband and I were hydrated and fed in the frenzy of it all. Thank you again Steampocket!

This is an unusual place to dine as it feels cobbled together and lacks uniformity in it's layout. It's an oddity but not an uncomfortable venue to dine at. The coffee and banana bread I had were okay, even though the banana bread was on display without any cover over it. Who knows how long it'd been sitting there exposed to who-knows-what 🤔. There didn't seem to be a set menu and the food on offer seemed very limited. Maybe this place is good for take away coffee ☕, but to dine in at it I think it might be too random for many.

Started off ok, ordered some pots of tea. Waitress left. It's only a small menu so it took a minute to decide. Waited 20 minutes while trying to get their attention the whole time to order but they were just in their own world. Finally got to order. Another 20 minutes on the food. Got the eggs Benedict and the hollandaise was great, the eggs cooker perfectly, only downside is it was on the muffins not a nice thick bit of sourdough. Also it comes very plain without the basic ingredients and if you want to add them it's $4 each ingredient...your $17 eggs Benedict would soon end up...
