Dined today with my family and I’m very sad to say it was atrocious. Our last meal was about a year ago, maybe less and my god the difference is unbelievable. I ordered the beef roast and it was awful. The meat was cold, tasted reheated and was absolutely vile, I had three slices of meat on my plate and I sent back 2. Husband ordered a chicken curry, the portion was very small, it has nearly halved since we ate here last and it just wasn’t enough to fill him. We ordered a portion of chicken nuggets and chips to be split between our two toddlers and again the portion was half the size then what we got the last time. Fair enough in hindsight we should have ordered 2 portions of that but we went off the portion size of the last time we dined. Very flustered staff for 2pm on a Sunday with an empty restaurant. We were one of the first tables to take our seats and basically got ignored for 20minutes before we could place our order. I’ve worked in hospitality in Dublin for many years and for me this is just a complete no no. Customer is key and unfortunately whatever has changed recently at J’B’s is not working!!! Please fix it as we have loved coming here in our 12 years since being in Perth but absolutely will not return if today’s standards are the norm. Spent $31 in the bar and $79 in the restaurant and left a tip. I had to go home and feed the family again as nobody left satisfied. Beyond disappointing and frustrating.
** edited to add. While we were dining a chef walked out through the kitchen door with a ladle of fat or something of the sort to dispose off. Then later during our meal the same chef came shuffling out again with a clear container full of oil or something with cling film covering the top of it. Absolutely stomach turning!!! Who does this Infront of a dining room full of paying customers....

We were seated in the restaurant area next to display cabinets with lots of interesting memorabilia - I thought it was a nice touch. Place looks really Irish with all the old style décor/furniture, frames, signs and even a bicycle hanging from the ceiling. Ordered the Pork Chipolatas for entre and we shared that - delicious and juicy. For the Main I got a Traditional Sunday Roast (Lamb) which looked amazingly delicious when it was put in front of me. It was very good, one of the best I have ever had from the stuffing to the Yorkshire pudding. Roast potatoes very crunchy, I wanted more of it. Gravy was silky and there was plenty on the plate. To wash the food down, I of course got a Guinness on tap. Service was prompt and friendly. Upon paying for dinner, we noticed that we had been charged for desserts we didn't order - this was rectified in the end. After dinner, we headed down to the bar area, had loud music so was noisy. Bar service was ok, one of the staff members must have forgotten our order as we had been waiting a while. We informed the bar staff member of this and he poured our two drinks, however after picking up the drinks a random patron came up to my friend and I and took the drinks of us saying that they were his drinks. This was confusing for us so we informed the staff member again who looked confused and proceeded to pour two more drinks (this time for us). Overall I would definitely head back to try the other Sunday roasts, apart from the couple of teething issues, I had...
Read moreWent on a busy Sunday afternoon so is not surprising they'd disappointingly run out of Roast Pork (crackling) and ice cream that was advertised, came with dessert. The stuffing was different as it was mixed with minced meat and tasted more like sausage with herbs and spices. None-the-less the stuffing was nice and I would've liked more. The roast lamb was nice and assorted veges were cooked well with broccoli half cooked and therefore crunchy, which is just how I like them. The gravy could've been a bit more generous and had a bit more flavour but was good texture. The Bannoffee I had was different as the colour of the caramel resembled chocolate and I'd therefore braced myself for disappointment but was pleasantly surprised it didn't taste like chocolate. My companions had the Ultimate roast (four meats) but cos of no pork, doubled up on lamb. Their Yorkshire Pud (Irish?) was apparently yum and desserts Rhubarb & Apple Crumble was nothing to write home to mum about. The Bread & Butter pudding one of my companions had was a bit runny and tasted more like egg custard. The lack of ice-cream was made up by an extra dollop of whipped cream so with the desserts they had would've been better had the cream been from the bottle and not whipped. Overall it was a nice meal, nice atmosphere that is family friendly and reasonable price. I only gave 3 stars for food cos of the no pork and...
