I am utterly disgusted in the experience my wife has had trying to get a visa so our family can travel to Europe for a holiday and to visit her family. So apparently to get a schengen Visa my wife has to spend majority of the time in Italy, apparently a minimum of 15 days needs to be spent in schengen area out of our 30 day holiday and apparently we have to show hotel booking for every day in Europe and they will only issue the visa for the days confirmed by a hotel booking. We have provided the details for the first few days hotel booking and then our bank account which shows the funds for the rest of the trip, our plan is to travel around and spend time where we are enjoying ourself and thats apparently not possible. All the required documents were provided on the first day and none of the "differences" are mentioned anywhere on the schengen website or italian visa websites, it is a disgrace that one or two people can bend the rules around the schengen visa so far as to cause such stress on someone following the set rules. My wife has been in tears from the process and we will now be changing out holiday to exclude the schengen area because the ordeal has been too much stress. It is clearly easier to enter the schengen area as a refugee and this is such a disgrace how descent people are treated when simply trying to have a holiday. I will never recommend to AVOID this Italian Consulate if you want to go to Europe and if you want a stress free...
Read moreI went here to organise my Schengen Visa (2nd one within 1 year) and have had great experiences with both, thanks to Roberto and Daniela.
You won’t experience any hiccups here as long as you have all your documents ready and prepared. And even then, you have the opportunity to send an email to the visa department of any missing documents on the day.
First time, my appointment was cancelled due to an illness on their end and they called me straight away to ask if I could come the next day! Of course I took this opportunity and this was dealt with by them hassle free on the day!
I was a little less prepared the second time I applied so didn’t have a couple things and had to email them the documents but Daniela was patient and friendly while I did this (I.e. had to make a couple phone calls and emails to get this sorted) and I could sort it out in that one sitting!
Just a reminder, although some sources say you can bring cash, it is not the case for Perth. Always have a physical debit card.
Will always be a pleasure to be served by the people...
Read moreOn the 22/12/21, my partner went here to renew her italian passport. She entered the consulate with a "Goodmorning", and was ignored. She sat down, and waited. Only to hear the woman behind the desk, speaking badly to a Male colleague, about a woman that had just been served. 15 minutes went by, before my partner approached the desk to advise that she had a 10am appointment. The time was now 10:15am. The woman replied "Yes, go down there" pointing to where her male colleague was seated. Even though she was doing nothing productive. My partner left there without her request being processed. The woman made up excuses as to why they couldn't help her, and that she would have to make another appointment, to sort this next year. We live two hours north of Perth, so this was a big inconvenience. I will be going with my partner, to her next appointment, to make sure that this does not happen again.
To the woman that works here, I would advise you to find another "job", because this clearly isn't suited to you. You are rude, and very...
