Cleaver Heritage — Restaurant in West Perth

We love Cleaver Heritage and the staff are always so lovely and we have had so many great meals here .. but today was disappointing. They have changed the menu and some of the delicious lunch favorites have gone .. there seems to be a more breakfast vibe and less lunch options. We used to love the fish and roast vegetables and the lamb kofta but they are sadly, no longer on the menu..

We ordered the pork Benny . Slow cooked pork, muffin, poached eggs and hollandise ..the eggs were hard boiled!! and the pork with onion jam was very sour and not enjoyable. It’s also very sad that they are only open until 2pm .. if we go for lunch, we always feel rushed, we don’t have the option for afternoon tea and today, when we were leaving, there were 2 other groups of people that arrived for coffee and were turned away as they were...

Beautiful location and the interior of this cafe is spacious and stunningly clean. Staff are really friendly and accommodating to the mostly elderly clientele and staff from the aged care facility next door so while this café has great potential, it seems to not strive too hard on the menu. Our eggs and bacon was ok. The granola was hardly “homemade” and very basic with yoghurt, overripe banana, strawberries and none of the advertised coconut. Coffee was insanely hot and exceedingly average but maybe we’re just too picky bc there was no shortage of customers on the day...

I used to enjoy coming here often but it's just been downhill over the last 12 months. I'm not sure when exactly but the menu changed and is now extremely overpriced ($19 for granola?!) , and they removed the green bowl which was one of the better options. Now it's just different ways of putting eggs onto bread. They've also removed the muffin and coffee deal. The service used to be way friendlier but has become very transactional.
