Batter Up Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Western Australia

Absolutely terrible. Ordered snapper meal, was so so expensive - they then also charge $2.50 for tomato sauce. Got order and was a handful of soggy chips, no salt, snapper I'm pretty sure wasn't even snapper but either way the fish was tangy and so dry it crumbled which was concerning. Was absolutely not fresh. Meal had salad, however never received it. Went back, asked for the salad portion and the bloke disappeared out the back cold room and came back with a styrofoam container with one bit of tomato and some wilted lettuce & onion that had clearly been in there for days, likely a week or longer. I hate to say it but this is genuinely the worst fish and chips I've actually ever had. Due to the worry of the tangy flavour we binned it, was too concerned we'd get sick. Will not be back. Other reviews are pretty on the mark with comments. Not fresh, terrible...

Fish and chips no longer holds the mantle of an inexpensive meal. Unique opportunities arise from economic pressures, rising rental costs, all manner of expenses associated with selling food. The answer is never pre processed food, the answer is not complicated. Customers will happily pay for innovative, creative cooking, good use of ingredients thoughtfully prepared. We live in a country with some of the best seafood and produce in the world. Hillarys Boat Harbour is over the Ocean what better place to offer the best cooked seafood anywhere. An opportunity missed or ignored. The only thing missing is imagination, out of the box thinking to cooking seafood, perhaps other cultures offer the solution, the Greeks, Japanese,...

Rename this place to 'Stunned Mullets'!

Couldn't really believe tonight's experience at this place.

2 staff, no sense of urgency amongst them, waited 25 minutes for an incomplete order, and watched these 2 do very little while people waited to order or to receive their orders.

The young lady spent 15 minutes wiping surfaces clean, which isn't a bad thing but perhaps give some attention to people clearly waiting to place an order - I'm surprised that they didn't get vocal or just walk out in disgust. My wife very nearly had a Karen moment and fought hard to contain herself (love you sweetheart ♥️).

There was hardly anyone in here tonight, and I shudder to think of how this place will cope when the warmer weather really...
