Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) The Broken Hill Hotel offered a satisfying dining experience marked by large portions, a friendly atmosphere, and a unique touch to the classic Chicken Parmigiana. Upon arrival, the bustling vibe of the hotel was palpable. It was a typical Friday afternoon, with patrons contributing to a hearty hum of conversation, laughter, and clinking glasses. Despite the loud ambiance, the atmosphere retained an appealing friendly vibe, contributing positively to the overall dining experience. The main attraction, the Chicken Parmigiana, was nothing short of delightful. An impressive portion size that promises not to leave one hungry, it was generously adorned with sauce, ham, and lots of cheese. The chicken itself was succulent and well-cooked, creating a pleasing contrast with the sharpness of the cheese and the savory taste of the ham and sauce. The side offerings, however, had some room for improvement. The salad was surprisingly substantial, to the point of being overwhelming. While the freshness and variety within the salad were appreciated, it seemed to dwarf the accompanying chips. Those who prefer a balanced meal might find this a bit off-putting. The chip portion was relatively modest, served in a quaint little basket. I found myself longing for a larger serving of these crispy, well-seasoned treats, especially considering the copious amount of salad provided. But it was the aioli that stole the show. It was simply incredible! Creamy, tangy, and packed with flavors that transformed each bite of the meal into a symphony of tastes. It was the unexpected star of the dish that elevated the entire culinary experience. The service, fitting with the overall friendly atmosphere, was prompt and polite. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, striking a comfortable balance for patrons. Overall, the Broken Hill Hotel provides a hearty meal with their Chicken Parmigiana, in a lively and convivial environment. A few minor tweaks in the proportioning of their sides could propel this experience from good to great. This spot is recommended for those seeking a large, satisfying meal amidst a vibrant atmosphere.

From the moment the dishes arrived, it was clear we were in for something special. Each plate was beautifully presented, but it was the flavours that truly impressed. The standout of the evening was without question the creamy mushroom gnocchi. Pillowy-soft gnocchi nestled in a luxuriously rich mushroom sauce, finished with a fresh peppery rocket.. It was comforting, perfectly balanced, and utterly indulgent. Every bite was a reminder of how simple ingredients, when treated with care, can be elevated into something extraordinary. The fillet mignon was equally impressive, offering a generous and well-thought-out combination of tender beef medallions, broccolini, golden fries, and prawns in a luscious garlic cream sauce.. A true feast without being overwhelming. Service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made for a relaxed and memorable evening. We’ll be returning! Especially for that unforgettable gnocchi.

We had a lovely lunch here today. We ordered the t-Bone, surf and turf, and lobster 🦞 pizza. The lobster 🦞 pizza 🍕 was delicious, best meal of the bunch. The steaks were over cooked, mine was well done when I asked for medium rare and my daughters was at best medium. It is a common, if irritating problem at most pubs, anyhow, I'm over it. I had pepper sauce with my t-Bone, it was a gravey style, I prefer a creamy pepper sauce but it was ok. The pub is very nice inside, we had table service for both drinks and food which I really appreciate. This was my first visit to this pub, I would go back, especially for the lobster 🦞 pizza 🍕. I would not order the steaks again. Recommended

Unfortunately, disappointed with the ending. I just left with a feeling that I could have had the best experience of my day, but I didn't.

I was very well received and attended to, the food was wonderful and the place was fabulous. However, when I went to pay my bill at the cashier I took the opportunity to fill up some of my alcohol gel with the alcohol gel that was at the cash register for customers to use. My alcohol gel (60ml) was 3/4 full, so I only needed a little. However, the employee who was at the checkout with me took the alcohol gel from my hand in an extremely rude way and said “what are you doing” in a rude tone. “you can’t do that here or in any restaurant. if you want buy your own”. I apologized and was extremely embarrassed by the situation. I think there are several different approaches that could be taken, but not that one.

I had lunch with a friend and paid over $100 for it, which I can't complain about, given that the food and service so far had been fabulous. However, due to an alcohol gel that has an insignificant cost, I had a failed experience.

I hope this never happens again with other clients, as I don't wish the feeling of embarrassment I had on anyone.

I apologize to all the employees who helped me, this review is not for you. With the exception of the last employee, you all provided...

I met family for lunch there today and had the most amazing time! Great service, incredible food and a fantastic price point.

We enjoyed the BHH Bowl, which was super huge. Such a fresh healthy dish which would have easily fed 2 or 3 people…which resulted in us organising take-home containers for the leftovers!

I ate the Thai Noodles which was so lux, and it had a nice little kick of chilli which was a perfect warmer for the cold day today. My sister had the mushroom gnocchi and she said she was in Heaven. And her guest had the steak and enjoyed every morsel.

There was also a great selection of drinks to choose from, including one of our favs - Matso’s ginger beer!

Although our stomachs were full we committed to having dessert as well - the caramel tart which was today’s special was delicioso!!!

Special thanks to the professional, friendly and attentive staff who looked after us! It was a very busy venue but we were always being looked after so well by the team there. I’d also like to give a shout-out to the chef for creating such a magical menu which was not only tasty and amazing value for money, it was an unforgettable experience we will be talking about for months to come. We cant wait...
