Cafe Gelato — Restaurant in Western Australia

Thought I'd give this cafe a shot as I've always seen this joint fairly busy throughout the day and night. Sad to say, I was fairly disappointed.

Coffee was standard, but I was more upset about the waffles and service that came along with it.

Ordered a regular sized waffle with cream, syrup and gelato. Gelato was a little on the icy side but tasted fine. The waffles, however, tasted sour and lacked any sort of crunch (on the outside) to it.

When mentioned to the person in charge, they defended to say that they had sold more than 10 waffles that day and the batter came from the same jug. Feedback would be passed on to management, however was not offered any compensation nor a remake of the order.

On a better note, the place is cozy and casual. Gelato flavours are aplenty.

Fairly disappointed and...

I recently went to purchase a special deal that was advertised (being a coffee and wrap for $10). I asked if I could exchange the coffee for a hot chocolate, and if this would incur any different costs. The cashier advised me it would make the price “a few cents more” - I was happy with this, and assumed it would be 50c extra for my request, despite hot chocolates being around 30c less than a coffee. However when it came to paying, that ‘few cents’ was actually $3… unfortunately I didn’t notice this until I check my bank notifications, however I thought I would share my experience with deceptive behaviour.

I visited on a Sunday. The lady serving me was sweet and polite. I ordered a soy latte (there is no lactose free milk) and a raw vegan slice. The slice was delicious and tasted fresh. The coffee was nice.

There are a lot of different gelato flavours here that looked amazing. Vegan, gluten free and dairy options available.

The decor and seating is comfortable, with warm low lighting inside and even two armchairs for alfresco!
