It's a hidden treasure in the midst of commercial and casino precincts right next to the bustling traffic on Great Eastern Highway. Great location for weddings, family gatherings or outdoor events for young students, or anyone who is interested in wildlife within natural lake environments! There are BBQ facilities close to the lake, children's playground, youth exercise facilities and also the new public toilets. The settings within the park are excellent for the young and old, who may also like to have a relaxing place to spend some time with. Read moreWent past it on the bus and spotted a lot of birds through the trees, so came back. Ended up spending a lot of time sitting at the tables by the barbies, birdwatching. Loads of corellas, multiple cormorant species, darters, purple swamp hens, et cetera. Everything from Willie Wagtails to nankeen night heron. There are also a lot of white ibises there, and I noticed that someone had managed to get Google to display the marker 'Bin Chicken Island' for the lake. Made me smile, at least.
