Ordered a chicken burger via Uber eats. Have had this many times before and love it usually. Small hiccup. Chicken was completely raw. Resulting in me eating it and getting sick. Horrible experience. Took it back in, even though staff seemed apologetic, didn’t appreciate the offer of more food. But if a joke seeing as no now I don’t trust you, and two I’ll be throwing it up in a couple hours. This is food safety basics. The staff member said it might have been a “folded peice”, mate teenagers can cook chicken through in takeaway stores. This is a bare minimum, which tells me they cut a heap of corners. If the owner sees this, stop being cheap, train your staff well, and don’t bother replying. Kind of hard to compensate for food poisoning. Be careful if you go here. Won’t be trusting again unfortunately.

Ordered a Bahn mi through Uber eats. The photo on the app was deceiving to say the least. Arrived in glad wrap, inside a fruit + veg plastic bag. The crackling would have been perfect if it had been cooked recently. I reckon this was made yesterday, early morning. Minimal meat - a thin slice covering the base of the roll. The roll was soft, not crunchy like a Bahn mi should be - however not stale. The salad and herb content was fresh and saved the day. Icing on the cake was biting into the 2nd half of the roll where a large green-red chilli had been chopped into some quarters, I thought it was a capsicum slice until the penny dropped! I almost had an anaphylactic reaction (and I love spicy food). Very disappointing, horrible, horrible.

DO NOT ORDER A CUSTOM CAKE! I ordered a cake for my daughter’s 11th birthday party with a weeks notice. My daughter had seen a specific cake at the bakery previously and I had taken a photo and showed the photo to the staff member when I ordered the cake. On the day of the party I went to pick the cake up, only to be told that they didn’t make the cake and I had to choose one from their display which had no resemblance to the cake I ordered. I ended up having to settle for a chocolate mud cake - again, nothing like the cake I had ordered, as it was 1:45pm on a Saturday and I needed a cake for the party. The photos show the cake I ordered (blue and white sponge cake) v’s the cake I ended up with (chocolate mudcake).

Being a local of carlisle for over 10 years and frequenting the bakery often - i have had a good chance to try almost all that they sell. After the baked goods dissapointing me time and time again; tasting old, soggy pastry, I went in today at 5.45am to try to get a fresh pie. I was horrified when I asked for a quiche she said she'd check if they were ready and proceeded to squeeze a pile of pies in a warmer that were clearly being reheated - they were upside down piled ontop of each other - quiches stacked like they'd been sitting in there all night defrosting. it was quite clear what I thought wasn't a fresh pie, wasn't a fresh pie. they need to really do a health department check on this place too they have no air-conditioning and half the stuff goes bad just sitting out...
