Went for lunch. After placing our order we went upstairs after asking the person who possessed our order, who said yes we can go upstairs. It was very hot up there. The lady manager came and grumpily asked why we were there when there was a sign that says" upstairs is closed." A mini verbal war was in play. Immediately the manager said, " ok I will switch on the aircon you can stay" . She did and went down stairs. We changed our minds and decided to go find a table downstairs. We went to tell her that we have changed our minds. She kindly asked us to go back upstairs, We did go back up stairs. A short while a young man brought one of our drinks, a simple coffee. He dumped it on the table without even asking who had ordered the coffee. We kind of felt out of place, dis liked and disrespected. However ,we let go. A few minutes later the lady manager brought our food her self. Proffessionally carrying 3 plates. She greeted . The announcement was made that the food had arrived. Respectfully, each food item was called out and carefully placed in front of each person. Once finished, the manager informed us that the drinks were on their way and wished us a happy meal before departing in a professional manner. Despite our previous verbal exchange, she showed no signs of anger. Within a short period, the drinks arrived and the meal was outstanding. I was particularly impressed by how the lady manager deftly handled the initial conflict and then provided excellent service. Keep up...
Read moreWeird interaction. I ordered scones and asked for extra cream, the lady told me it would cost more & I said I didn’t care and to please add it on. She clarified with me a couple of times because it already comes with cream I said I know that and to please yes charge me extra, I want extra cream. When it came, it came without the extra cream. I told the waitress that I paid for extra cream and just stood there awkwardly looking at my scones & then said ‘we are actually really busy right now’…… What kind of a response is that? So if you’re busy and don’t bring something out it’s just too bad for me even if I paid for it? Very weird thing to say. I would have been happy getting my extra money back or the cream because I’m not paying extra for nothing. She said she would go check because I told her again that I paid for it. 10 minutes passed and she never returned. At that point I realised the lady at the counter didn’t even charge me for it in the first place so I just left. Found the whole thing really weird, it obviously wasn’t the waitress’ fault but why would you just say to a customer that you’re busy if they say part of their order is missing? Honestly a very unusual interaction when it was just a simple mistake that could have been quickly explained and I wouldn’t have cared. Instead it was extremely awkward for everyone for no reason. I definitely...
Read moreWhat a disappointment.
Expected warm and friendly service as I read in other reviews but was met with cold and officious. Not nahming anyone though. No staff members smiling or engaging with customers. Perhaps understaffed? Too busy? Felt like I was interrupting..
Our 3 dishes came out within 2/3 minutes; too quickly to be freshly prepared and it showed. It was mildly warm at best like it had been sitting for too long. The toast was cold and rubbery so the butter wouldn’t melt, and the poached eggs were overdone to the point of being powdery. And you forgot to place the green garnish on my plate when you took it out of the oven or the heat lamp. Yes it is a minor point but it is those small things that make all the difference. It is why the menu photos look so appealing and our dishes did not.
Please realise we do have the option to stay home and prepare our own breakfast/lunches, or worse still, we can go to the multitude of other places that have similar offerings. It may just be a shift to you guys to get through so you can get paid and get on with your lives but all your customers decided to leave their homes and dress up a bit and drive to Dome for a pleasant experience to share and enjoy with family and friends. You don’t work in a burger van but that is the equivalence of what we...
