i’ve been coming here for coffee for about 2.5 years now, love the coffee it’s always amazing, however the food is absoloutely inedible.
at this point it’s my own fault wasting my money by continuously buying food as it is convinient whilst i grab my coffee on the way to work thinking “this time it might be better”, but today was just the last straw.
the first incident i had with holla’s food was recieving a cabinet panini with raw chicken throughout it, once i shook that, i decided to try their breakfast wrap - horrendous, the bacon was undercooked, something i bit into was a rock hard chunk which immediately threw me off on top of the fact the cheese would not melt despite them toasting it and me microwaving it (the cheese had an extremely unfood like texture).
recently i’ve picked up the paninis again, trying the chicken and pesto panini, great flavours, however the chicken is absoloutely inedible, hard as rubber, just to finish the roll i had to sit and deconstruct the panini and manually attempt to tear apart each piece of chicken to smaller chewable pieces as it was so tough. lastly today, i decided to try the schnitzel panini (thinking it will be a full schnitzel fillet what can go wrong this time) they toasted it for me as normal, i got in the car to head to work and a piece of chicken fell out and i decided to try it - almost threw up, my stomach has been weak the last few days and this chicken is disgusting, tastes old and damp on top of experiencing hot, lukewarm and cold all in this one bite, mixed with the terrible taste of soggy onion. i was so hungry i decided to have a crack at the turkish bread to fill me up even though i’m fighting the urge to not throw up, only makes it worse, old, soggy and again hot/lukewarm/cold all at once with an occasional crunch. i’m extremely dissapointed as the coffee is amazing and i wish the food would go well with it.
in saying this, i think they need to have a food safety audit done on them to regulate the food they are serving, it is very dangerous, i work in management in the food industry and i know very well that they do not meet the standards for temeperatures and storing of food with the way i’ve been served this inedible food 5 times - i can only imagine how many people have...
Read moreThe two girls working today were absolute champs under the pressure, they were stressed but still polite and made a really great coffee despite the chaos. They deserve huge credit. But honestly, the wait time was quite long, and that’s not on them, that’s on the owners. It’s unfair to leave such a busy cafe so understaffed. Customers end up waiting, staff get burnt out, and the whole flow suffers. If the coffee is this good when the team is drowning, imagine how great the experience could be if the owners actually supported their staff with...
Read moreThere was a fly in my coffee. I brought a coffee from this place this morning took a sip and my tongue noticed something unusual in there, spat it out and there was a fly. These guys clearly don't care about hygiene, nor do they store milk in a sensible fashion, or they don't care about placing the lids back on the milk containers. Either way, that was disgusting and i'm not going back. I should have learnt the first time I went when they served me a soggy toasted cheese toastie that they thought would be great when placed in a...
