Let me start with decor. Very nice inside, double tablecloths on every table, quality matching material napkins and modern cutlery and glass wear. Old style high back comfortable chairs added to the interior elegance and ambience. We were a party of 7 squeezed onto a table sized for six and things were squishy and tight but doable. The actual food was top notch. Nothing to complain about the foot. We had the platters for entrees and 7 different mains each delivered and excellent in taste. So the food and ambience in my view were really good. Then why not 5 stars?. The staff is why. Not rude but pushy and speaking at you rather than with you. Within 5 min of arrival wanting to take drinks order when we hadn't even settled in and even looked at the drinks menu. Ditto the meal order. Very little time to consider when the next server arrived virtually demanding our food order. I also observed and didn't like the female wait staff "barking" orders to one another in their native language over the customer tables. I just found it to be unprofessional. Major let down was the delivery of main to our table. 7 mains, 3 rice and 2 naan plates tring to be squeezed onto out table. Barked at by our female waiter to make more room on the table without please or thankyou. When we asked what each dish was to identify our orders the look of disdain her face said it all. As I said the food was great and tasty and sufficient quantity. The cooks do a great job. The front of house let the venue down. The wait staff I feel look down on customers just to feed them, take their money and get them out as quick as possible. The old world charm and ambience is not matched by waitstaff disposition. Would I return. Definitely so as we were there for the food which delivered in spades and I can put up with less than optimum service. The prices were reasonable and the menu was large and varied. We did get the heave ho being told they were shutting in 10 min asking us to leave. Get the waitstaff in matching uniforms and improved attitudes, and the place would be that much better. Just to reiterate--good food- nice ambience- wait staff attitude a bit off but still give this place a visit. Plenty of free nearby...

Both Manager and staff failed to reach the expectation. We ordered pakora with chilli and potato stuffing assuming that it is potato base and green chillis. But it was other way round, we then request if we could cancel and order another item. Manager was forcing us to pay for something we did not eat. Rice we ordered was not cooked, kofta was also rock hard , could Not break it with the bread , on top of that managers attitude and lack of customer service put an end to our experience and spoilt our evening when we drive this far for nice meal. Manager even threatened that if we do not pay she will report to police ?? At this point we felt we are not dealing with staff who cares about customer experience and only getting payments from customer and giving out food of below average quality. I think there is some serious problem here with the staff and management as this could have been solved by replacing the dish or offering us cooked food, it was an absolutely awful experience.

Food left as it is.

If they go like this business would not...

I have been here a few times as generally am happy. However, dspite a booking being made for 8.30pm with no other information provided, we were told when we walked in that the kitchen would be closed at 9.

From the moment we sat down, the pressure to purchase was a little unnecessary including a particular wine, 'still or sparkling water'. We certainly felt rushed and were told at 9.35 that the restaurant was now closed, the table was cleared and we had to leave. Interestingly, one of the unopended bottles of still water for which we were charged, was on the bench next to the fdri=dge loking likeit was to be put back in. I raised the question about paying for it as it was unopened and was told that as it was now at room temperature, a chemical reaction had taken place and now the bottle of water could not be placed back in the fridge! It was only water! Wow. Despite questioining this I wasn't going to get a reasonable answer so left with my water to go in the fridge at...

Really disappointing. Arrived at 7:30 to be told they were closing at 9pm - ordered quickly and had finished our meal by 8:30 only to then be told they would like to close the restaurant at 8:45. We were almost ready for the bill anyway but were rushed out unceremoniously. Service is absolutely abysmal. It actually doesn’t get worse than the blank look on this person’s face when I said absolutely anything to her. I wonder if it is a language barrier not just her behaving rudely but either way - this is not a place I would recommend or visit again.
